About this cabin rental

"Bear's-Eye View"

Nestled in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains, at just over 3,000 feet elevation, you will find our private 3br/2.5ba cabin, with year-round long range mountain views.

There are no neighbors in sight from the cabin, yet you are only a few minutes away from a convenient grocery (Walmart - 3.7mi). The quaint downtown of Spruce Pine is 5 miles away, and we are just 10 minutes off the Blue Ridge Parkway (milepost 331).

Our cabin offers a great “home base” for day trips to experience all that Western NC has to offer. Spruce Pine is located right between Asheville and Boone. There are so many possibilities for hiking, sightseeing, skiing, and river tubing, just to name a few.

Enjoy our new Starlink High speed internet for work from home and streaming capabilities!

The secluded nature of the property offers a great opportunity to get away and enjoy nature. Waterfall located with a short walk down the driveway!

Watch the sunrise over the mountains from every eastern facing window of the house, or while relaxing on our expansive top deck.

Our 7 person hot tub offers an excellent vantage point of the Mountain View, which extends all the way to Table Rock and Hawksbill Mountain, located in the Linville Gorge Wilderness Area.

You are fully responsible for how you will navigate the roads and driveway in all weather conditions, please make your best judgments. Chains and 4WD are recommended in the winter months, when inclement weather is present. There is a parking area at the bottom of the steepest part of the drive that gives you a chance to park and walk up the driveway if needed. *Snow removal is not guaranteed*

Pests/ Animals:
The cabin is routinely treated for pests, but please keep in mind the cabin is located in the middle of the woods, home of animals/pests of all kinds, including snakes, deer, bears, field mice, turkeys, a variety of bugs, etc. Nature is all around you, and there will most likely be an occasional bug in the house, especially if doors are left open. Understand this prior to booking.

Please leave garage doors closed when not in use in order to prevent animals from entering the garage.

Trash is to be contained in garage trashcan and closed tight.

The house was bigger than it looked in the listing, and super clean! Two huge common areas, a well-appointed kitchen, and a massive hot rub with a gorgeous view. The owners are super responsive to messages as well and gave us recommendations for local places.. It was the perfect quiet and relaxing getaway for my husband and I (and two of our dogs) for a week. Highly recommend!

Our stay here was absolutely incredible. It was one of the rare instances where you walk in to your rental and go “wow, this is better than the posting”. Incredibly remote, quiet and peaceful. The view was beautiful and not blocked by any foliage, and is viewable from basically every part of the house. Amenities were plentiful and we felt right at home. Hiking was a relatively short drive (45ish to linville gorge and Grandfather Mtn) and a grocery store was just a short drive back down to town (12min). Highly recommend this spot and will likely be back myself.

Had a great weekend with family staying in this remote cabin. Wonderful views and close to Little Switzerland, Crabtree Falls and hiking at Mount Mitchell. Would recommend for a private and relaxing vacation spot!

This property is a wonderful remote , private home. It’s spacious and nicely appointed. It’s a new VRBO. Would have been better if the septic system was working properly. The odor was very present and at times limited one’s desire to stay on the outdoor fire pit deck / hot tub area. This needs to be addressed ! And conveyed clearly to those renting in the coming weeks. The owner supplied a couple of dozen bottled water as the well water is not always suited for drinking. I’m ok with that having been on well water for years. Others on public water may be surprised, thus should be stated. A number of lights need to be checked out as lights in master bedroom were not working. It takes a while to figure out which switches work what. But wonderful views. Also suggest some instructions on how to operate gas fireplaces. I believe this is a new Vrbo and thus a learning curve I guess for the owners. But it’s otherwise it’s few kinks a great location and home.
