Deer Dune, the Dune house is located at the end of the road in a secluded Saugatuck MI enclave of a handful of homes. Nestled in oaks, pines and decades old rhodendrums that blanket the landscaping. The home is an architectural gem and is regularly frequented by Deer, Turkey and the Owl. Enjoy the relaxation of rural refinement and the sounds of Lake Michigan on the dunes with all the amenities of Douglas, Saugatuck and Oval & Douglas Beach just minutes away.
The Dune House, brings the outside in with expansive windows and doors that reach from floor to ceiling and doors that sweep open to bring in uninterrupted nature and landscaped panoramas. Deer Dune’s décor is rich in eclecticism with contemporary furnishings, antiques and appointments and original art that show case stunning contemporary lines. We like to think it’s fun, cozy, comfortable and smart with a deference to the traditions of lake Michigan that will create a nostalgia, memories and stories to last a lifetime.

Five bedrooms with four bathrooms, two ensuite.
Spacious layout with 3 houses. (Main house) Two bedrooms, one up and one main level, the loft and street side. The Loft has a private balcony. Two (2) bathrooms, laundry room, and open living area with living, TV, stereo, dining, kitchen, wood burning fireplace with complimentary firewood.
(Cottage house) Two bedrooms, named the library and the Cottage room, one up and one down. The Cottage, upstairs bedroom is ensuite with bathroom.
(Studio house) One bedroom ensuite with shower. Private balcony. The lower level is the game room with pool table, TV and lounge area seating.
Outdoor covered and screened dining. Sunning porch.
Gourmet kitchen with counter island seating for four. Dining table seats 8. Outside BBQ

This was the perfect property to spend a weekend with my 4 sisters. We were thrilled with the location, the scenery, the local wildlife and the opportunity to stay in a home that met all our needs. Every comfort of home we could imagine was met or exceeded our expectations. The attention to every detail and the effort to anticipate all our needs was deeply appreciated. We hope to have an opportunity to visit The Sanctuary in the further!

Super spacious, relaxing home that’s perfect for a group of friends. Screened in porch with a large table where all 10 of us could sit at the same time was appreciated as well as all the comfortable chairs and sofas inside. More than 1 fridge to use for overflow Big, well stocked kitchen. Secluded backyard in the woods. Very quiet neighborhood. Easy walk to Douglas Beach which was helpful due to limited parking. Easy drive to town. Hosts responded instantly to questions. Highly recommend this gem!

Our stay did not start well as our host gave us the wrong entry code for the lockbox. We called the number given to us to reach our host, only to have it go right to voicemail. After waiting outside for 15-20 minutes, we finally managed to reach the host to get the correct code. This property was well decorated, and the kitchen had everything and more. I was surprised considering the high level of furnishings that the mattress on the beds were terrible. None of the mattresses offered any support and all needed to be replaced. Considering the price of this rental I was very disappointed that the bedding did not offer the same quality as the furnishings of the rest of the house. Everyone in our party was complaining about the beds. The air conditioning was sub-zero on the main floor of the main part of the house, but very warm and uncomfortable on the upper floor. Overall, even though the house was beautifully decorated it didn't make up for the sagging mattresses and poor air conditioning on the upper levels.
