About this house rental

HURRY - JUNE 17 to JUNE 24, 2023 STILL AVAILABLE AT A REDUCED RATE!

A Cape May treasure. This classic Cape May cedar-shake modified Dutch Colonial with ocean views is located just three houses from the East End beaches and close to center city shops and restaurants. Built around 1920, it is a contributing historic Cape May home that has been lovingly renovated and restored, with modern amenities, in keeping with its historic architectural design elements. Enjoy ocean views and breezes from the spacious front porch, your summer living room furnished in comfortable, cushioned wicker, with new, all-around awnings for shade. Step inside to a large, light and bright living room and adjoining dining room, each with its own corner gas fireplace, original hardwood floors, wainscoting, and an abundance of windows. Between the dining room and the kitchen is an office/butler’s pantry with a built-in wine rack, custom cabinetry, and a wet bar and refrigerator. Walk through into a cook’s kitchen with granite countertops, a large center island with stools, and newly installed stainless-steel appliances. A separate laundry room with a wall of cabinets and an expansive pantry closet and its own large window extends off the kitchen, along with a separate half-bath. Just past the kitchen is a spacious, private rear deck, canopied in summer for shade, for dining, grilling and entertaining. Upstairs, which can be accessed from convenient, dual wood staircase entries from both the living room and butler’s pantry, is the second floor, which boasts four large, corner bedrooms, all beautifully furnished, each with five windows for natural light. The second floor also contains two full modern baths and a small office. On the third floor you will find a double bedroom, originally two rooms, with breathtaking ocean views, and a delightful child’s bedroom, plus a third full bath. The home has two separate climate control systems, recently installed, providing gas heating and central air conditioning. The walls of the interior sport gorgeous, coastal colors that provide a cheerful, relaxing seaside ambience on all three floors.

Great house for a multi-generation getaway. Nice big bedrooms inside and wonderful large front porch to hang out , with a gate to keep the toddlers from running away. Very responsive manager ! Our only quibbles: wood slat blinds do not get the rooms on the second floor dark during nap time and the top floor double bedroom has no partition or doors so it's like an open attic- and the only bathroom with a tub is there so no privacy in the room while kiddies are being bathed after the beach. We might be back next year!

We had a great week in Stephen’s house - proximity to the beach couldn’t be better. Rooms and space are exactly as pictured, with plenty of space for our group of 7 adults + a toddler. Stephen was great at communicating and quickly sent someone out when we had a minor issue with the bathtub. All in all, would highly recommend this house - we’re a little sad it’s not available for our preferred week next year.

The house was perfect for my family of 13 and the distance to the beach couldn’t have been better. The front porch and outside dining area were great. Many of the amenities, ie bikes and hairdryers were a plus. There are a few things I’d like to make you aware of. The second floor front bathroom had a lot of mold in the shower. I know the house is old but many of the doors and floor on the second floor were squeaky. The pullout for the trash and recycling cans in the kitchen did not roll out easily. When we arrived the small refrigerator in the butlers pantry was dirty. There was also a sock in the corner of the living room that was there when we got there. The bathroom off of the kitchen smelled as if it hadn’t been cleaned. I appreciated your quick attention to the few things that needed repair when we arrived. Sorry to point out these issues but have to tell you we all had a fantastic time. Carol
