It looks magical, and it’s ideally placed for a stay in Henley.
It was very cold inside on arrival, 11°, as the heating had been left turned off (as per landlord’s instructions). If traffic noise is a problem for you, then it’s not going to be somewhere you will want to stay. It’s not barefoot friendly inside, so take a pair of slippers.

Stunning cottage which felt like stepping back in time. Has all the facilities you need, a large master bedroom and second bedroom with a single bed perfect for a child. Great location in the centre of Henley.
If you are tall (we aren't particularly so it didn't bother us) just be aware of the low ceilings in places which may not be comfortable for you

The historic element and the location
We were cold and we couldn’t turn the heating on

The 1400 cottage is a one-of-a-kind experience. It was loaded with charm, well organized, and the beds were quite cozy. The location was excellent, just around the corner from the many quaint shops and eateries of Henley-on-Thames.
This is an historical property, so I booked it understanding that it would have its quirks and unique features. Don’t stay here if you’re expecting the amenities of a chain hotel. I wished I could’ve stayed longer.

Quirky and very beautiful. Great location with everything we needed for a few days
Some places for tall people to bump heads but that was also part of its charm.

We were thrilled to stay in such a beautiful cottage. It was comfortable and well equipped and right in the centre of Henley.
There was nothing that we didn't like.
The uneven floors could be an issue for someone with mobility problems.

Beautiful house in a very convenient position
The bathroom was a little awkward to use. It would also have been a nice touch to have supplied milk in the fridge .

It was in an amazing location. Walking durable to everything!
The key is located about a block away. This is not a big deal once you knew the location and weren’t hauling international package.

quirky Tudor building.
It was January but the heating didn’t work. Apparently we should have read the briefing pack for instructions but who does that after paying for a stay? The staff should have turned it on before we arrived.
There was a wood burner but no wood. We froze all night.
It’s supposed to be a cottage but it’s actually part of a connected row of small Tudor dwellings with paper thin walls, so you can hear your neighbours walking, talking, snoring and whatever else they decide to do. Street noise also intruded.
I cut my foot on the head of a nail protruding from the floorboards outside the bathroom and banged my head on the very low bathroom ceiling.
Not recommended unless comfort really isn’t your thing.

Beautiful Tudor cottage in the heart of Henley
No hot water in the bath / shower when we arrived in the evening.
Reported the problem the following morning and only fixed late afternoon.
Compensation requested but refused.

good location and full of character
low beams likely to result in bruised heads and bathroom quite small

The property was excellent and the host was understanding when I hadn't realised a damage deposit was required. This was not that clear in the Booking.com comms.
We kayaked to Henley and we were able to store the kayaks in the small corridor off the street. Really good.

Perfect location
The living room needs more lamps. It was very dark. Also, it would be nice to have a mirror downstairs.
