Secluded, well equipped, comfortable, quiet, warm
Not much! A bit dusty in places, quite a few spiders, but that’s to be expected from a shepherds hut.

price. The owners leave you alone. The bed was so comfortable. It was quirky.
Hard to find in the dark. No sign . No logs. Door was hard to lock.

Good rural location in the area we wanted to be. Peaceful and affordable stay. The owner sent us comprehensive messages beforehand to understand how the set up works at the Shepard’s hut. It was quaint inside but we didn’t get a chance to muse the outdoor areas.
There was a lot of info to read prior and lots of house rules and safety stuff that whilst maybe important made the trip a bit more stressful to make sure we did everything right, etc

Cozy warm and like a big cuddle loved it,
Nothing it was perfect for two and quite romantic too

It felt isolated despite being in a garden. There was a lot of effort put into making it a private space. Lots of outdoor seating. Compact & cosy, perfect for a solo traveller. The communication and information given prior to my stay was excellent.

Absolutely everything, this place is a real gem.
The weather. My fault for going in October.

very nice well equipped little shepherds hut with nice outdoor space and comfy platform bed. Good size shower with hot water and cooking facilities, a small electric oven and two ring hob.
We arrived in the dark and the venue was a little difficult to find but we phoned the host and he gave us directions so that was ok, I don't think we would have found it otherwise.

Beautiful setting and so peaceful. My dog and I loved the whole experience. Set in a great area within easy reach of nice places to visit.
Found the toilet a little difficult to get used to. Quite a confined space ( as I expected ) . Wouldn’t want to share with anyone else ( unless you were very close ) ❤️

Only thing we missed having there was an iron

Perfect location for me, visiting locally. A quiet retreat. Everything you could possibly want/need somehow fitted into a compact space, without feeling squashed! Very comfortable bed, hot shower. Lovely hosts.
Pigeons occasionally tap-dancing on the roof (I'm joking - they weren't intrusive or annoying!!)

This is a beautiful peaceful setting, with plenty of options for relaxing and dining outside. Relaxing in a lounging chair watching the sun set over the fields with only the sounds of birds and insects around you was a real treat. Within the hut itself, the hosts have thought of everything and it is very well equipped for a compact space. The decor is pretty and thoughtful. The hosts were welcoming and available if needed to offer advice on the local area but otherwise respected my privacy.
If you are a very light sleeper, the birds may bother you. In the early morning they are quite loud on the roof of the hut. This wasn't a problem for me as I only noticed it once already awake and is to be expected in this kind of accommodation but may be a problem for others.

Great quirky Shepherds hut with all facilities included towels and bedlinen, super comfortable bed. Small shower room including toilet with towels included. Look out for the quirky nod to Hares in the hut.
Neil and Linda were super hosts who were friendly, welcoming and informative. The shepherds hut is located in the couples extremely large garden, but is secluded half way down. Views of the amazing countryside can be seen, alongside Roe deer and Muncjack spotted.
Neil and Linda are on hand if needed, but do not bother you otherwise. Inside was a small compact kitchen with all utilities required. We made good use of the outdoor barbecue with enough seating and tables scattered around. Neil offered us the use of the fenced area (wo-man cave) which considering the heat of Summer was a blessing for our three dogs with lots of shady areas. Would highly recommend the Shepherds hut for couples wanting to explore the beauty of Suffolk and Norfolk.
We took a fan as the hut can get rather hot in Suffolk's hot Summers.
The fridge is small and compact. All in all a fabulous 4 nights at Mr Hares Shepherds hut.
Nothing not to like about this great Shepherds hut.

We liked the quiet location of the property and how quirky it was. It’s a lovely little hut with everything you need supplied. The hosts are really lovely and friendly, with great advice on what to do.
Lots of local places just a short drive.
The only improvement would to be have more lighting in the hobbit hut for the evenings and to perhaps have backed curtains in the shepherds hut to make it darker in the mornings.

Our second stay at Mr Hares Sheppard Hut and it was just as lovely as the 1st! Walked to the four horseshoes pub, took an hour and an easy walk on a lovely sunny evening. Meal there was really good! 15 mins walk from the accommodation is the Railway Tavern where we had drinks and chatted with the locals - a really friendly place. The hut itself had a new enclosure built around the outdoor gas cooking facilities which an added bonus. We will be returning for sure! Thank you once again Neil and Linda!!
Didnt like coming home!!

I loved everything about Mr Hares Sheppard Hut! It was clean, it was in a beautiful location, it was private and so very cosy! It had everything you could need and found the outside cooker great for burgers and bacon rolls for breakfast. There are many lovely walks around the area and on a bus route if you fancy going into Eye. 20 mins walk away we found a pub and everyone was so friendly and chatty, we loved it! Neil and Linda the hosts are also a lovely couple - again friendly and helpful and nothing is too much trouble. We will definately be staying again!
The only thing I didnt like was leaving the tranquil peace to come back home!!

Nice rural location. The peace and quiet was very relaxing with only the noise of birds twittering. The shepherd's hut is compact but had everything I needed and more. Very helpful information about local attractions and facilities as well as information about the shepherd's hut sent by Neil a week or before arrival.
Nothing i didn't like.

Smashing location, the Shepherds Hut is easily reached, and Neil and Linda are excellent hosts... non intrusive, but extremely helpful, loads of information about the area provided which was really useful. Two pubs in walking distance, Eye and Diss close by for amenities, and easy to get all over Suffolk and the lower part of Norfolk from this base. Its a pretty, quiet area. The hut was really well appointed, comfortable, quiet and secluded, and has a lovely area to sit out and look over the fields. There are hare and deer all around and we saw both in the neighbouring fields. A lovely getaway.
Nothing it was all great

Cute and cosy shepherd hut with all facilities in a great location. Unique experience.

Lovely quiet location, more or less everything you need, even little touches like spices, gravy, salt and pepper. Fridge is a little one, so I had to lay my milk container down, it wouldn't fit in the door, but enough room for a few little bits and pieces, so if you want to take more fridge stuff, I would recommend taking a powered cool box as well.
But the bed was super comfy, the wood burner was easy to use, it's a cute little place. And you don't need an alarm, the pigeons walking about on the tin roof will wake you gently in the morning. ;)
Host is friendly and was very helpful, a minor hiccup at the beginning was soon sorted. I hope to book this again in the summer months to enjoy the outside more, as sadly it rained most of my stay, so I couldn't really sit outside. But what a place! Cute, cosy, lots of quaint little touches, very much my style. Enjoyed my stay.
The booking isn't normally open until Spring, but it somehow went live early. So the only drawback is that the weather isn't great through March normally, and because of the rain, the walk down to the hut was waterlogged and a muddy one. There are plans to put some path work in, which is much needed as we do get a lot of rain through the year in this country. So make sure you bring wellies. ;)
