Baan Chi Homestay

Lovely traditional Thai home with open plan living area, in a beautifully maintained peaceful garden - like staying in a tree house! We were making the journey from the Trang area islands to the north, and chose to stay here one night on the way as it was so different from everywhere else we saw. It is a short distance to Chawang train station. The house had a bathroom with toilet and shower, and kitchen area with crockery, kettle and fridge. I think there is a shared kitchen area with cooker that could be used elsewhere, but we did not need to so didn’t ask. Our hostess was wonderful and so kind - she even gave us a lift to and from a restaurant just outside town! There is also a small evening market in Chawang and convenience store in town, on the road leading north from the train station, about 15 mins walk from the house. Breakfast was amazing, traditional Thai and delicious. Really recommend for a different experience staying in Thailand.

The trains on the nearby railway are very loud, but not frequent. There is an early morning village announcement on loudspeakers - I think this is common in rural Thailand.
