The Consulate

We had a lovely 3-night stay at the Consulate. The room was clean and in an excellent location. Communication was clear from the start, and our host checked in regularly to ensure we had everything we needed.

The only minor drawback was that there was no lift, so we had to carry our luggage upstairs.

The location was superb. The room was a good size, tastefully furnished and well-equipped.

It was not a hotel so no one was on site to deal with any queries, but we could contact the owner if we needed to.

Its location and the stylish decoration.

Hauling luggage upstairs.

This was probably the most disappointing stay from our 6 week trip, we had very high expectations considering the price but unfortunately it did not live up to it. The apartment was however very spacious and out the way of all the noise

This was the one place of our big trip we splashed out on and the overall experience did not seem value for money at all. We arrived and couldn’t find the property, we couldn’t get hold of the host and eventually we found it and the owner didn’t apologise for not responding to our messages - he also knew the time we would be arriving. The bathroom had the worst smell the whole stay of drains, I told the host and he said he would come over but never did. No toiletries or anything - was definitely not worth the money.
