This is sort of a Capsule/Hostel hybrid.
There are two showers and about 8-10 bidet style toilets with about 6 shared sinks.
The bed is in a shared room with about 20 or so total beds (One on each side of the room with a bottom and top bunk) as you see in the photos they are separated by thin walls and a curtain at the front.
I found the bed to be comfortable and the pillows the same pathetically thin type pillow you find throughout Tokyo.
Always do yourself a favor when travelling Japan and have some sort of travel pillow if bad pillows bother you.
Your experience can vary wildly depending on who is staying in your shared space.
If you can't stand people snoring or are in general a light sleeper, then this place is definitely not for you.
I only had to tell a group once to chill out after they decided to start talking loudly in the sleeping area together.
If you booked with a group do everyone a favor and talk outside, the sleeping area is really just for that.
If you just need a comfortable spot to lay your head at the end of the day- you could do a lot worse.
The Sugamo area has a lot to offer as well and is very close to Shinjuku and other Tokyo hotspots.
This space is located a mere 2 minutes walk to the station.
That being said, if your room is by the window facing the station- you will hear the announcements during operating hours.
For me this place is perfect between what's offered and the price point (Under $20) so I'll be staying here when I'm hoping around Tokyo Solo from now on.

I’ve visited Japan twice, and both times I chose to stay at this hostel. The service is always excellent, and the staff are friendly and helpful. The price is very reasonable for the quality you receive, making it great value for money. I would definitely stay here again on my next visit.

Location is perfect but the place is dirty and so cramped. No place for luggage, no locker at all. Anyone can just go in as main door isn’t locked while your shoes and luggages are in the living room. No reception, feels so unsafe. I booked for 9 days but only stayed for 6 days and looked for a more expensive place. They would not change bedsheets and spray the stinky room even though I booked for 9 days. In the room 3 people are coughing non-stop, so scary to catch flu. The state of the room made it worse. When I entered the room I wanted to just go out. Apart from the location, I don’t recommend this place even for short stay, let alone long stay. Don’t exchange convenience to cheap rent.
