Cleanliness and the ambiance
The breakfast needs more protein and serving white bread only everyday is not acceptable. My friend also said that the scrambled eggs was already cold when she went down to eat before 9 am when we were told that breakfast was to be served at 9 am. Even the scrambled eggs could use some variety.

Location is close to the intercity bus terminal, the city bus stops and tourist landmarks. The lobby is cozy. Breakfast is simple but enough to start the day. Room was tiny but the bathroom was big. The host was friendly and attentive.
A few things to be aware of: there is no lift so you'd have to lug your suitcases up to the rooms, the bed is SUPER hard (probably the hardest I've ever experienced) and wet bathroom might not suit some people.
The aircon was quite loud but thankfully Gyeongju had cool weather at the time, so we just had it off during our stay. There is also machine humming noise coming from outside, might not suit light sleepers.

Blau Guesthouse is a small family run hotel close to the historic sites in the centre of Gyeongju. The room was exceptionally clean with a comfortable bed and powerful shower. A decent breakfast was provided including toast and scrambled egg, fresh fruit and good coffee. Soo Jin, the owner was very friendly and helpful. The guesthouse has a washing machine and dryer which is free to use. I heartily recommend this hotel as a base to explore this fascinating city.
