A great place to stay if you are visiting the historic town of Harlech or surrounding area.

The hosts were very welcoming and happy to answer any questions we had. The bar staff were friendly and engaging. The rooms were spotlessly clean and comfortable. The breakfast was outstanding. Great location for local attractions e.g. golf course, castle, beach, hill walks and transport links (train/bus).

The staff were very welcoming, and the clean and comfortable facilities allowed for a good night’s rest.

The staff were all very welcoming and flexible, allowing me and my friend to show up much later than the latest check in time (since our train was late). We both felt welcome there and were glad to have somewhere warm to stay for the night. The facilities were great, and the staff served us a wonderful breakfast in the morning as well.

Just ok

Proximity to the castle. Pillows were nice. Snacks were provided in room.

A bit impersonal. Tried to make arrangements to leave my bag with the hotel so I could hike up the hill but the owner just couldn’t be bothered. I also got up too late for breakfast which was only served for an hour on Sunday morning.

We had a nice day and intended to just chill have a meal and a few drinks which didn't happen

Did not get to have breakfast

We were let into a room up some very narrow stairs. We struggled with our bags . We did feel a bit uncomfortable with the room as it was not quite what we had expected . We were there for about Half and hour when there was a loud knock on the door . The owner seemed angry with us as he said our booking was for the next day and he would have to make the room up again for the guests that were booked in. He asked us to leave and escorted us to the door. This was a genuine mistake on our booking search which was for the correct day but it must have defaulted to the next day. No remedy help or kindness was provided and we just felt we had been thrown out. It was very embarrassing . We ended up making a 4 hour journey home late at night .We paid for a room we were never going to use as certainly didn't want to return.

Enjoyable good value break, would return.

Handy for the town, beach, bus and train. Clean comfy room. Good selection of hot drinks and nibbles. Good breakfast, evening meals pub food ( chicken and leek curry recommended), no puds but large mains so not missed. Landlady and landlord plus bar staff friendly and helpful.

The bathroom was very clean with nice towels and products, but bath and shower are due for a refurb. Some road noise in the morning but ear plugs provided.

Genuine Welsh hospitality

The hotel is situated literally in the shadow of Harlech Castle, adjacent to the railway station. It is an old Victorian railway hotel that has been tastefully restored and is caringly run by Liam and his family. The food is good honest and wholesome with plenty of choices, the rooms aren't enormous but are genuinely comfortable and beautifully warm for our visit in September when temperatures are beginning to drop.

Nothing not to like - it met all of our needs and was exactly as portrayed by the description and photographs.

Sublime inn, right below hill with the castle view, high quality everything, lovely dunes walk

Excellent full breakfast included in our case. Dinner wonderful. We had window looking right at castle. Was quiet. Staff very professional. Lovely walk from front door down road to the sand dunes and the sea — sublime! Morfa mini-mart very near. The Castle is a gem, btw.

Very good.

Good location, very comfortable room with lots of attention to detail. Very generous with a jar of snacks, tea and coffee etc. We chose to have dinner in the dining room , good varied menu with very tasty meals. The owners Liam and Rachel are very friendly and gave good local recommendations of places to visit.

Slightly concerned about road noise due to location, but certainly not an issue.

Most of the stay from people to room, food was very good.

The noise from the main road kept me awake at some points of the night. Some of my breakfast was overcooked.

The breakfast was very good especially the eggs. Room spacious and both beds were comfortable. Good atmosphere in the bar area. Outside seating with a great view of Harlech Castle. Decor everywhere lovely and sparkly like our host.

Great quick overnight stay!

Nice property with a restaurant and bar. Although it sits on top of a bar and next to the railroad, it was not loud and no disruption to sleep. The host provided a mask and ear plugs - but they were not needed.

A truly great hotel,everything about our stay was lovely,we will definitely return for another night

We were so very impressed with the hotel,from the feeling of the place to when we left .It was a lovely place to stay over for the night,from the staff they were brilliant to the food,beer garden,and our bedroom was so comfortable an amazing tea tray with an ample selection of beverages, whole place was spotless,we will definitely be back again.

Lovely hosts, good location, all you could need for a short break

Brilliant location to explore this part of Wales, spectacular view of Harlech Castle from our room. Rachel and Liam have high standards, our room was very comfortable, immaculately clean and close attention to detail for all the extras (toiletries, drinks, snacks in the room, eye mask and earplugs if needed) Breakfast had a good range to suit all appetites, cooked breakfast especially good. Evening meal prepared and presented well.

We did enjoy stay for a few days, we have made some comments above but this wouldn’t put us off staying again

The location is good for walking to the beautiful beach and catching the train / bus to get around. Didn’t see as much of the hosts as we thought we might but when they were around they were very friendly and helpful. Bar staff were very friendly too . Evening meal was ok. Breakfast was nice as cooked to order- not sure what made it a Welsh breakfast!! The room was a deluxe double - not sure what made it deluxe ! But it was fairly spacious and clean. The treat jar was a good idea, plenty of tea/coffee and hot chocolate, would be nice to have a small fridge and maybe then fresh milk. The shower didn’t particularly get hot but that was ok as it had been a very warm few days so a cooler shower was welcome . We do think there should be fans in the rooms as standard as until around 9pm the sun was shining through the window making the room very stuffy even with 4 windows open. Shame no one thought to straighten up the tv on the wall too- a little wonky . There were no sockets visible on the walls to use so had to use the extension lead under the bed and no socket near the mirror to be able to dry hair .

There were just a few things that’s could help the stay as mentioned above . Not many places to eat around the hotel or even in the centre of Harlech

Lovely hotel, friendly staff, nice bar and restaurant.

The location was within walking distance of Harlech Castle, which was the reason for our visit. All the staff were friendly and helpful from check-in to check-out. The wait staff and kitchen staff were knowledgeable about Celiac disease, and were very careful with the food preparation to accommodate our needs. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel, and I would certainly stay there again if visiting the area.

Really cannot think of anything negative to say or even areas to improve.

Great location, attentive host

Liam greeted us and was very attentive. Offered to carry our bags up but Changed our room to ground floor as I was having trouble with stairs. Cooked us a delicious lasagna Love the plentiful snacks in the room sweet and savoury Nice bar area and outdoor seating in the shade of the castle Parking on site was easy Room was a bit hot when we arrived / we didn’t have to even ask Liam brought us a fan

One lounge chair in the room abit low to get out of Shower rose was really high (hand held not working) Not really anywhere to put bags (ie bag rack) for one night stay when Unpacking not needed Curtains were thin so it was light early but sleep mask was provided

Clean property, liked the snack pot. Had a few problems but the host tried to fix them.

Booking.com cancelled half our accommodation and they didn’t phone which was a shame as I was on a long bike ride so didn’t see their email. Our dinner reservation also got cancelled leaving us very little choice where to eat. The staff did suggest another pub for half our party to stay in which was a good job as we would be sharing their bed

The hosts were very friendly and helpful during arrival and departure. The food both for dinner and breakfast was of high quality and very enjoyable. The view from the room was stunning - the hotel is overlooked by Harlech Castle.

The controlling of the temperature within the shower was difficult - nearly impossible to get a useable temperature.

Over night break

The staff made us feel very welcome and helpful, the hotel was very clean and everything we needed was in our room the location is minutes from the beach shops and good places to walk I would definitely recommend it and we will book again 🙂

Breakfasts were brilliant, well and freshly cooked. The owners are absolutely lovely, very friendly and helpful. Liam carried our bags up and down the steep stairs. Everything was so sparkling clean it all looked like new.

From the blurb I didn't realise that the hotel isn't in the main part of Harlech town, which is either a steep walk or a short drive away. It is on a busy main road which was quite noisy from about 5am onwards. For me, I would have liked the mattress and pillows to be softer but appreciate that is a very personal preference.

Lovely warm welcome with excellent breakfast.

Excellent value, spotlessly clean and lovely breakfast with emphasis on local produce. Staff all very friendly and helpful. Bonus of onsite free parking which means you can walk to Castle or beach. Good to see it’s dog friendly too. Room was well equipped with plenty of clothes hanging, toiletries and lots of choice on tea tray.

Mattress was a bit firm for me but that’s just personal taste. Main road outside can be fast at night but they helpfully provide ear plugs.
