The flat was in a quiet and relatively clean neighbourhood outside of tourist-y Paris. There are several decent restos in the area, and it is very close to the bois de vincennes, a franprix or two for groceries, a boulangerie, and public transport. the bed was very comfortable, though the pillows were enormous -- we slept on the bath towels, rolled up.

hmmm. maintenance was spotty -- the curtains were a bit musty and the main curtain was disconnected from the rail at one end, with broken bits that could easily be repaired. the table was round when square or rectangular makes better sense of the space and too large, getting in the way of ease of movement within the flat. the three mismatched chairs were a mess; two needed to be tightened up (a 5 minute job) and the remaining was so wobbly that we declined to sit in it. all these complaints would be an easy fix. it did seem as if the flat owners/management didn't quite fully think through how the flat would be used. all this was survivable, but not as pleasant as it very easily could have been. fix those problems and we'd stay again.
