Little slice of heaven! We stayed here to attend a wedding at Matilda’s Event Barn. It was idyllic, so pretty with the fall colors and glassy lake. We loved hanging out in the porch with blankets (early November). Everything was very accommodating, temperature control in both sleeping rooms. Simple check and out. I only wish we could have stayed longer. We’re keeping this in mind for the summer!

If you are looking for a private and peaceful location to take your family to relax and do some kayaking, fishing, swimming, or just unplugging outside for a few days--this is the place. I read the reviews before booking because I was really trying to find somewhere I could almost guarantee my kids could catch some fish. Well, 102 fish later-- Mission Accomplished. The weather and temperature cooperated during our stay for optimal fishing. The property is very well maintained you can tell the owners take great pride in it.

Property 5/5! Pond/lake clean and banks well tended/mowed. Plenty of toys: floats/kayaks/golf cart/hot tub/diving board/docks all in good shape. However the interior of cabin was not as expected. The space would work well for a family with many children, not adults. Unfortunately 1 of the 3 window AC units was not operating making the living room, kitchen, and bathroom hot especially when cooking. Fortunately we had multiple fans to move air. Grill worked well but had no tongs/spatula to work great. I didn't pay attention, so fair warning grocery and restaurants are far away 30min drive. (Santa Claus/ holiday world is not a large town with many options).

There was a beautiful fall view. Fishing was great, and it was so exciting for the grandkids. The property was clean and very well-kept inside and out. Could have skipped Holiday World and enjoyed Lakeside Cabin, which had plenty to do, or relaxed and enjoyed some quiet time outdoors.

Our family needed a chance to get away from the fast pace of life and this little cabin was just what we needed. Our hosts were absolutely amazing! The property is beautiful. We were still able to eat out close by or do some shopping but coming back to this peaceful cabin to fish, swim, and just relax was the best!

This is THE CLEANEST property we’ve ever rented! It was stocked with everything you could possibly need -from sunscreen and life jackets, to cleaning & paper supplies and everything in between. Small lake/large pond was all yours! Lots of fun activities from swimming to kayaking to fishing to a tiki bar. Beds were comfortable, hot tub relaxing. Cornhole, card games, smart tv, fire pit w/ beach, picnic shelter, patio fire table, screened porch… if you get tired of the water. Local area attractions to explore if you could pull yourself away from the property. Only regret is we wish we could have stayed longer!

Had a great stay with my wife and 4 kids. Fishing was awesome with several catfish caught over 24" and some bass and bluegill. The swimming dock was a great place to hang out and enjoy the water. The golf cart is a nice addition for those trips around the lake when you don't feel like walking. We enjoyed smores by the firepit every night and sitting in the screened patio listening to the nighttime wildlife. Will stay here again!

This place is awesome! We were welcomed with a bottle of local wine & snacks! Our reason for the trip was the Spirit of Jasper Dinner Train (highly recommend!) The cabin was exactly as shown except the pics don't do justice of the outside area! The leaves were just showing colors. The hot tub was a plus as was the golf cart. We took a tour of the property; Tiki Bar is so cute! I caught a huge bluegill & lost a big catfish! The inside was comfy & well supplied. While we did not cook, they had everything you would need! Owners were very helpful. Food at the near by New Boston Tavern is a must. Monkey Hollow wine is awesome too! Thanks Andy & Sara for an awesome stay!

Great place to stay for a quiet weekend on the water. The house itself was on the small size but other then that no complaints. The house was stocked well and we needed nothing while we were there. The wine left by the owners was a nice touch. Owners were very accommodating. Would recommend and stay again.

Within an hour of arrival we knew we would be back! This place is beautiful and so relaxing. We had four kids with us, one high school, two middle school, and one elementary aged. All four had the very best time! We kayaked, swam, fished, cruised around on the golf cart and had fires by the lake. This was by far the best vacation we have ever booked. Our only mistake was not booking a longer stay! The hosts were amazing. There was not one detail missed when it comes to the amenities and the property is so well maintained; it’s absolutely breathtaking! If you’re looking to unplug and reconnect with nature in a completely private setting, this is the place to do it. (Although WiFi service worked great). Plenty of outdoor activities for all ages— kayaking, fishing, swimming, diving board on the tiki hut, nature walks, sightseeing on the golf cart…the list goes on and on! The lake is so clean and fishing was fabulous! The turtles were adorable. As soon as the sun sets, the bullfrogs in the adjacent pond get vocal singing for a bit. A great thing about the property is the way the hills roll around with the trees surrounding the lake & cabin—it makes it so your can even hear the screened-in patio door bang shut from the far side of the lake. Tried to have a week of no cell phones, but I couldn’t quit taking pictures and videos…and more pictures! But had zero desire to “check” my emails or social media - didn’t want to waste a minute online. When the breeze goes calm, the lake water is like a glass mirror and the sun, trees and skyline surrounding it reflect in the water. Sunsets were spectacular to watch from the dock and our stay was during a full Sturgeon moon that lit up the lake. Without a doubt, would return in a heartbeat!

Beautiful country property, great fishing and waterplay for the grandkids. Owner was just a text message away for any problems.(we didn't have any, everything was set up and ready). Enjoyed Holiday world which was minutes away, Lincoln park, minutes away, and mamoth cave about an hour away. With 5 grandkids age 2 to 15 the cabin brought the very peace me and the wife needed.

Beautiful property ! Caught many fish, watched turtles, deer , toads n skinks. Took rides in the golf cart. This grandma even swam from the dock to the Tiki bar with my nephew, he jumped off the board, I watched ( 😁). We grilled, got in the hot tub, the most enjoyable get away I’ve experienced in a long time. Family friendly, would definitely recommend. Andy and Sara were such accommodating hosts and always quick to return communications. Will definitely return, family loved it so much we hope to make it a tradition.

This property was exactly as listed and described and more! The ease of fishing, swimming, and kayaking was what made this trip. My 14 yo enjoyed sitting around the fire each night, my 12 yo loved being able to wake up and immediately go fishing since there was an easy place to keep his supplies right by the dock, and my 8 yo enjoyed learning how to kayak. We all enjoyed the tiki dock since there was a floating mat you could lay/sit on. There is only one bathroom but even with 4 adults and 4 kids it was easy to take turns (we were in an island state of mind and didn’t need to rush anywhere). The gravel driveway could be a concern if you don’t have a front wheel/awd vehicle-but it is also what makes this place so peaceful. We would definitely stay again-in fact my kids didn’t want to leave for a few more days and neither did we.

Highly recommend Lakeside Cabin. Only 15 minutes from Holiday world. Spent 2 days at the park and one day at the property. Was really only in the cabin to sleep, eat and get ready for the day. Our grown kids had tons to do with fishing, kayaking, swimming, etc. The golf cart was definitely a perk. Enjoyed the peaceful scenery and everything about the property. This was the perfect stay for our girls getaway weekend. Such a beautiful location and so peaceful. I highly reccomend this location. Our stay was in February and the weather was mild so we took walks around the lake and just enjoyed the scenery. If you are looking for a summer time stay this is your place. I will be back.

We loved this place so much. The property is absolutely beautiful and the cabin SO clean. It was smaller than we expected. We were grateful for the outhouse, I'll tell you that, and the golf cart to get there in the morning when we all fought for the bathroom! Cleanest outhouse I ever seen, truly. I was impressed! The cabin was definitely tight for a family of 8 but praise GOD we had 2 days of nice weather and were able to spend alot of time outside. The fishing is GREAT! I can only imagine how fun this place would be in the Summer. It has everything you'd want at a lake house. We also enjoyed the restaurant near by called "Los Amigos" in Tell City. Great food, friendly staff, super clean, and beautifully decorated for Christmas. The kids would love to return this Summer. I can't wait to come back and try out one of the available kayaks! The accommodations was a Pole Barn with additional sleeping quarters built on. There's no rest room on the upper level so those who need to go to the restroom at night may want to sleep in the add on. There were no window coverings on the kitchen and living room windows so please consider this when booking (folks can see in but you can't see out. The grounds were to die for. Absolutely picturesque and peaceful. The gas firepit was empty. The owner said to use the extra tank for the barbeque pit but the fittings were different connections so that was a wash. I went fishing in the huge pond and caught an oil slick but remember, a bad day of fishing is better than a good day at work. The kitchen is COMPLETELY stocked full of everything you could ask for except additional spices for cooking. Plates, glasses, pots and pans were well orchestrated. The hot tub was a perfect temperature. These are all the fact about this property, we weigh the pros and cons for yourself. I would definitely rent here again but....
