About this house rental

The Calistoga Wayside Inn is centrally located just four blocks from downtown Calistoga. The home radiates the charm and elegance of a bygone era but features amenities of the modern age. The beautiful, peaceful gardens surrounding the home make relaxing on the different balconies and patios easy. We invite you to make this house your home in Napa Valley and hope you enjoy the unique 1928 Mediterranean, Spanish Colonial Revival style architecture.

The space
The Calistoga Wayside Inn is an ideal home away from home for groups; with warm and inviting spaces to gather and create memories with friends and family both indoors and outdoors, the home offers guests traveling in groups a delightful lodging alternative in the Napa Valley. Make this inn your exclusive retreat during your wine country vacation.

Join together in front of the wood-burning fireplace in the living room to watch a movie or play games. Take advantage of the fully stocked kitchen and BBQs to create and share a meal together. Experience all that Calistoga and California’s premier wine regions have to offer by strolling four blocks to Main Street or by capitalizing on the home’s central location to Napa and Sonoma wine regions.

Each King bedroom features its own bathroom. The largest bathroom in the home, the two-room Camellia Room bathroom also features access from the hallway should you have guests sleeping in the common areas of the home.

The additional bedding offered in the home is: a Queen sofa bed in the living room, a single sofa bed in the room off the kitchen, and a rollaway bed (see the layout of the home in our photo slideshow).

We also have complimentary portacrib(s) and highchair(s) can be made available for guest use (please ask if you would like to reserve these items).

Although the listing says "no AC" there is actually partial air conditioning in this home in the form of window units, and, the home does stay very naturally cool in the warmer months if the doors and windows are left closed during the day.

Guests are welcome to use the fireplace, but we do not provide the wood. Also, fire place use is not permitted on "No Burn" days.

Other things to note
We are a licensed by the City of Calistoga as an overnight lodging location and are therefore required to collect 15% Occupancy Tax on the nightly rate. We will use the Airbnb Resolution Center to collect the tax after you confirm your reservation. Tax must be paid in full prior to arrival.

Please note that we are unable to accommodate arrivals or departures on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day. You are more than welcome to book a stay that includes these holidays, but we can not accommodate check-in or check-out on these holidays. Sometimes exceptions can be arranged, please inquire if interested.

    Very fun property and charming in many respects. Great outdoor space with sweet lion fountain that my grandkids loved. The bedrooms were well appointed and the living room was very beautiful and comfortable. The parking was very easy. Our only problems were we had trouble locating the house because google maps went crazy on us and we had trouble working the shower. The host was responsive and it turns out weren't using it properly. I felt badly about that. Shampoo, conditioner and soap in all the bathrooms. Great laundry room which was critical for my grandkids.

    My family (5 adults 3 children) were favorably impressed as we drove into the property. Ample parking. Terraced patios. Hot tub that we used one afternoon. House was clean. We loved the bedrooms with en suite bathrooms. Large 2-queen bedroom was perfect for my son, wife and children. Loved the roomy living room and dining room. But, our 4-day stay was impacted by electrical issues that need maintenance. (Lights/switches not working; no protective plate on plug outlets. Fall weather had kicked in – 40-50° at night. When we tried to turn on the heat, the thermostat was not working, and we had to wear heavy clothes and coats inside the house. It took 5+ minutes of running shower to get hot water.) Approximately two hours before checkout, we were distressed that all power turned off and we had to finish packing in darkened rooms, with no showers because no way to use hairdryers. This is a terrific house and will be even better if the electrical maintenance and other issues are resolved.

    This house can’t be beat for a crew of adult couples ! Every room has own bathroom and great hang out space. Walkable to Calistoga town center and fun spots

    Everything was great here. Location close to Calistoga (walking distance). Nice grounds, if a bit rustic. Lots of room, especially bedrooms (5 king beds). Patio area out back very nice to spend cool evenings. The only issue we had (and that prevented a 5-star rating) was that it was very hot and the A/C did not seem to work. I followed the directions posted above the thermostat, and it really never cooled on its own. But I'd consider it again for a larger group like we had this time around.
