Town: Broughton-in-Furness, which dates back to the 11th century, is located in the south western region of the Lake District, about six miles from Coniston Water. A charming, cobbled area, complete with a magnificent horse chestnut tree, is surrounded by stores, taverns, and homes, many of which are Georgian in design. The village is an excellent location for a walking or climbing holiday, with plenty of opportunities to explore the Duddon Valley's rough splendour as well as the gentler Lake District fells.
