Sans Souci Gites is a small haven of two and three bedroom Gites located in the north of Charente-Maritime in sunny southwest France. Classified by Charentes Tourism in 2023 Wisteria has been awarded a three star rating.
Located in a small village nestled in the sunflower clad countryside with easy access to the A10 motorway, we are less than 8 hours’ drive from Calais, 5.5 hours from Le Havre and 4 hours from St Marlo.
With flexibility to accommodate parties of 2 to 14 people, this is a great place for families large and small or friends who wish to holiday together. The location is ideally situated to access many attractions within an hour’s drive including West Coast Beaches, La Rochelle, Cognac, Niort, Poitiers, National Parks and Futuroscope.
Each Gite is presented with its own individual character and finished to a high standard of comfort to make your holiday a home from home experience. Each gite has a lounge with both French and English (Freesat) TV and free WIFI. The kitchens are all fully equipped to ensure that you have everything you need. And a private, secure garden with both lounging and dining areas and a gas barbeque.
There is a 6m x 12m heated swimming pool, communal dining and lounging areas as well as a games area for boules or croquet. The site is secure with electric gates. There is off-road parking for each gite.
Local amenities are just 5 minutes’ drive away Co-op, pharmacy, and post office. Large supermarkets are located to the north (12 minutes’ drive) and to the south (20 minutes’ drive).
The owners live on site with their two small friendly dogs to ensure that you receive a personal welcome on arrival and to ensure the site is maintained in a pristine condition throughout your stay.
Wisteria is a two-bedroom three star rated Gite that has been furnished to a high standard. Whilst small and compact this gite offers comfort and coziness and has its own private secluded garden to the rear.
Downstairs has an open plan lounge/diner with fully fitted kitchen. There is both French and English TV (Freesat), a DVD player and a music docking station. There is free WiFi on site offering the best connection that French country living can offer.
The kitchen is equipped with an electric oven, gas hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, and all the required crockery to prepare and deliver home cooked meals.
Upstairs there are two bedrooms and a shower room with sink and WC. The main bedroom has a king-size double bed and wardrobes. The second bedroom is equipped with full sized Ikea bunk beds suitable for children or teenagers. As the bedrooms are all on the first floor, unfortunately this accommodation is not suitable for individuals with mobility issues.
Outside there is a private secluded garden to the rear with both an eating and lounging area with high quality furniture. There is a gas barbeque with a gas bottle for your free use. To the front, there is secure off-road parking and the pool, communal and games areas are all just a few steps away.

The accommodation was absolutely fantastic, and the hosts David & Linda we just brilliant, friendly and helpful throughout our stay!
We had some friends come out to stay for a long weekend during the middle of our stay, and they were very impressed. They even they said that they would come back here any time. They absolutely loved it.
We managed to see some of the Rugby world cup games down in Bordeaux, when we were there, and whilst away the ladies lounged by the pool.
We can not recommend this highly enough.
It was just like a home from Home for two weeks.
I would just like to finish by saying a really big thank you to David and Linda for being such fabulous hosts.
We wish we could stay longer!

Lovely gîte, fantastic location, the hosts were very friendly and couldn't have been more helpful, but not intrusive, I stayed there with my daughter and grandson for a week, the only negative thing I could say is that we didn't have longer.
