The property is in woodland and there are deer who visit the garden. Glenridding is in walking distance and there are several places to eat and drink and shops there. It is a good base for walking and the walks around Ullswater are lovely and not too strenuous.
The blinds don't block out enough light in the bedrooms so wear eye masks or wake up early! The path up to the house is steep and narrow so take care when driving up there.
