APLEND Hotel Ovruč

I booked 2 delux appointments for mine and my extended family. They were not the same and layout was not quite right in one of them being quite small squeeze with sofa bed opened. Receptionist explained they all vary which I did not know and booking.com pictures were clearly of the biggest one only. Although I understand this was what it was not ideal. Also WiFi was not working in this end building room. We enjoyed our stay, its was good to have kitchen in the apartment with coffee Nespresso coffee machine. Cleaners were friendly but attention to detail rather poor, dust in corners not cleaned for a while and when I left request to clean room on the door it was not done apart from loading dishes and exchanging towels but not even folding them. Nothing else got done, dirty floor, beds not done🤷‍♀️ Restaurant Kamzik within the building was fantastic and amazing to try various traditional dishes made really well. So overall we had very nice stay. Location is great, near hikes but also next to train rails which was not a big problem but some may have issues with the noise it makes. Train itself is charming.

Beautifully appointed apartment on the outer part of town. Very comfortable. Easy access to everything. Parking in underground garage. 3 min walk into town.

Nothing! It was perfect for our one night stay.

The apartment itself is fantastic. It is spacious, modern, and very comfortable, with a large living room, bedroom, and bathroom that made our stay very enjoyable. The building exceeded our expectations, and I would even say the common areas, wellness facilities, and overall presentation are much nicer than the photos suggest. The spa is a real highlight. It features a Finnish sauna, infrared sauna, steam room, several types of experience showers, and a large jacuzzi. The location is also excellent. It’s within easy walking distance of the train station and the lake, and just a few minutes from several hiking trails, making it a perfect base for exploring the area.

Unfortunately, the service fell well below what I would expect from a four-star property. Breakfast was average at best. The selection was limited, the quality was unremarkable, and items were not replenished if you arrived after 9:00 a.m., despite breakfast running until 10:00 a.m. On one morning, I arrived at 9:40 a.m. to grab a quick bite before it closed, and instead of a polite greeting, one of the waitresses shouted across the restaurant that breakfast finished at 10:00. It was an unnecessarily rude and unprofessional interaction. Housekeeping was another disappointment. During our three-night stay, our apartment was never serviced. After asking reception for the room to be cleaned, a group of cleaners knocked on the door while my fiancé was getting changed. Before we had a chance to respond properly, they entered the apartment uninvited, handed us a stack of clean towels, took the rubbish bag, and left without cleaning the room. It felt intrusive and was certainly not the level of service expected from a four-star property.
