The layout of this home is unique, but it’s absolutely perfect for a vacation rental—especially for our blended family trip. We loved the concrete area downstairs where we could shake off sand and store all of our beach essentials before splitting up to shower in either the downstairs suite or the upstairs bathroom.The sunroom/dining area features a large table that was perfect for family meals and late-night board games, and the kitchen has plenty of space for everyone to gather and keep the cook company while meals are being prepared.This area of the island is quiet and relaxing, and there were almost always lifeguards on duty at 18th Street, which gave us extra peace of mind. One of our favorite spots in the house was the upstairs screened-in porch. The comfortable couches and chairs, along with the ceiling fan, made it the perfect place to relax in the shade, enjoy the breeze, and read a book after a long beach day.Also—the beds in this rental are incredible. After spending hours in the sun and surf, we slept like the dead every night.We come to Tybee Island every summer for a week, and this is the second time I’ve rented this home. We absolutely love it, and the kids are already asking if we can stay here again next year.Thank you again to the Mermaids for taking care of us for the 6th year in a row!

Other than a very wet beginning our stay was excellent. House was very conveniently located. The only thing that would have made it better would have been stairs to main level inside the house. With the wet beginning we waded out to go up to kitchen.

We had a cool and rainy Tybee trip this time around, but Clamdigger Cottage offers a perfect retreat from bad weather. The sunroom is a delightful place to read and nap, the kitchen could not be better stocked, and the location is ideal for a quick beach walk between showers. As always, the Mermaids provided exemplary communication and ease—and even a delicious cake for our anniversary celebration. Thank you, Mermaids!

This is our second time staying at the Clamdigger cottage. It is in the perfect location- walking distance to almost everything, including the beach! It had everything we needed to feel at home, and the Mermaids even provided a bottle of champagne upon arrival! There was a really bad storm the night we checked in, and one of the Mermaids called to make sure we were okay. Top notch customer service!! We absolutely enjoyed our stay and we are already looking into booking again next year! Thank you Mermaids!! 🥰
