We had a fantastic stay at this holiday home and would happily return. The house has everything you need for a comfortable and relaxed break – fully equipped kitchen, decent beds, good water pressure in the shower, and a peaceful setting. The layout is spacious enough for a family, and there’s a homely, slightly old-fashioned charm to the place that adds character. Some of the floors are a little uneven and the décor leans towards vintage rather than modern – which we personally found endearing, though it may not suit those looking for sleek, minimalist interiors. That said, considering the price, it’s incredibly good value and hard to beat. The hosts were friendly and welcoming, with clear communication and easy check-in. Everything was clean on arrival, and there were helpful little touches like a folder with local recommendations. The location is excellent. You’re tucked away in a quiet area, perfect for relaxing, but still close enough to easily reach all the good spots. The nearby village of Achouffe – home of the famous La Chouffe beer – is well worth a visit. It has scenic walks for all levels, including child-friendly trails. There are also several excellent hiking options in the surrounding forests and valleys, with routes ranging from gentle rambles to more challenging hikes. For families, there are some brilliant playgrounds and outdoor areas within a short drive – perfect for keeping young kids entertained. This, along with the space in the house and the peaceful surroundings, makes it a very family-friendly option. In short, if you’re after a well-located, comfortable base for exploring this beautiful region – whether you’re a hiker, beer lover, or just after some peace and quiet – this is a great choice. Not flashy, but full of character, and a lot of heart.

Het is een mooie boeren hoeve met een goed onderhouden tuin. Bij binnenkomst van het huis hing er een geur die niet thuis te brengen was. Of dit te maken had met de ouderdom van het huis, of iets anders, we wisten het niet. Als je langer in het huis verblijft valt het niet meer op, maar voor ons geen prettige geur. Het interieur is echt zoals je van dit soort huizen verwacht, nostalgisch. Het zou hier en daar wat schoner kunnen zijn. Het interieur van de woonkamer komt niet meer overeen met de foto’s op deze website. Al met al was het een prettig verblijf. Wat zeep en afwasmiddel was welkom geweest, maar er is een winkeltje tegenover, dus dit was snel gekocht.

Huis is erg oud, maar wij vonden het heel mooi en gezellig ingericht. De vloeren van de slaapkamers lopen schuin af en het enige toilet is boven op de badkamer. Dus voor oudere mensen, die wat moeilijk ter been zijn niet geschikt. Er is een geweldige tuin en verschillende zithoek en en voor de kinderen voldoende speelmateriaal. Wij hebben een heerlijke vakantie gehad.

Tijdens een vriendenweekend gebruik gemaakt van deze accommodatie. Wij hebben het gebruikt als uitvalsbasis naar Bastogne en Foy. Afstand tot die plaatsen was prima, huisje was netjes schoon, stoelen lagen te comfortabel (eerste nacht werd ik er om 3.10 wakker, tweede nacht 00.30). Bedden waren voor zover ik dat kon beoordelen ook prima. Belangrijkste was dag alles aanwezig was, en schoon was. Hier en daar inderdaad wat scheef, maar dat gaf ook wel een leuk karakter aan het huis. De eigenaresse sprak geen woord Nederlands of Engels, en wij geen woord Frans. Toch zijn we er goed uitgekomen, ze was wel heel vriendelijk (denk ik) Wij waren erg tevreden, en zouden het zo weer boeken.
