Summary:
You will be staying right where the old town starts and as a neighbour to Copenhagen's town hall.
The penthouse was renovated from top to toe in January 2020 and has all modern amenities and features you need while the historic charm of the building is well kept.
The 4 bedroom penthouse is situated on the 5th floor with direct elevator access. It's got high ceilings, skylights and a big open living and kitchen space for all to dine or chill out together.
The Space:
The old timbered house still shows in this newly renovated and magnificent penthouse unit on the 5th floor. The open living room with high ceilings and skylights invites for inhouse family dinners and lots of quality times spent together in the cozy living space. Newly build kitchen and a spacious bathroom plus beautiful interior details throughout combined with direct elevator access makes this the perfect group or family vacation home.
A TOUR OF THE PLACE.
With the apartment key the elevator takes you all the way to the 5th floor and directly into the penthouse.
A dedicated entrance area opens up to both sides. To your left the open kitchen and living space with high ceilings, classic timber logs and beautiful plank flooring. Lounge furniture and a 43” flatscreen TV allows for all of you to cozy up and watch a movie together while a dinner table for 8 invites for group breakfast or inhouse dinners.
The bathroom is by the kitchen and has a large shower, beautiful tiles plus washer and dryer. There is only one big bathroom in the penthouse.
To your right from the entrance you will find the first bedroom which is the smallest and often used for children. It holds a queensize bed of 160x200cm and not much more. Down the hall are three good sized bedrooms with the last one being the master. They all have king size beds (180x200cm) where one can split into singles if preferred.
The Neighborhood:
The old town is the charming center of Copenhagen and the town hall is the official center so living right on the border between these two it doesn’t get any better than this.
Tivoli, the National museum and of course Strøget is around the corner while the new city circle metro line stops just a 5 minute walk from the apartment.
Getting Around:
Metro stop just 5 minutes away.

We are a family of five from Washington, D.C., and usually stay in hotels. However, finding a decent hotel required booking two small rooms at a similar price to this VRBO, so we gave it a try. We were very pleasantly surprised. The listing and pictures were accurate, and the location was incredible—right in the heart of Copenhagen, just minutes from all the main tourist attractions. Despite being central, it was tucked away in a quiet, safe courtyard. The elevator directly to the room was a lifesaver with all our bags. The host even provided a Christmas tree, which delighted our kids as we arrived on Christmas.The space worked perfectly for us and even impressed my Danish friends, who noted its size compared to typical Copenhagen flats. It allowed us to enjoy touristy activities while providing a comfortable place for friends to visit without imposing. We could even watch New Year’s fireworks from the room.One note for parents: although a crib is available, you need to request it in advance. Additionally, the stairs next to the elevator are steep, which was concerning for our toddler. A simple baby gate (borrowed from a friend) solved this, and I recommend asking the owner to provide one for safety.Overall, this stay exceeded our expectations, and I would highly recommend it to families like ours. We hope to return in the summer!
