Beachside home short walk to beach with private pool, hot tub & game room

This visit was much better than the last. Everything was clean and in good working order. It is very accommodating for our large family. The owners have made great improvements to the kitchen. It's close to the beach. We all had a great week. I would definitely recommend.

You can walk to several restaurants. The house is in an excellent location if you’re looking to stay in Avon.

We’ve rented through several different companies throughout the years that we’ve been staying at the OBX, and when we found out that the company we booked through sold to Vacasa I was a little nervous on expectations because I’ve heard bad things. This trip was much better then expected! We were able to check in 4 hours early (we didn’t purchase early check in), the house was well stocked with the essentials (LOTS of toilet paper and starter dish soap/dishwasher detergent). The house itself worked wonderfully for our group of 14 adults! It was well stocked with cooking and kitchen essentials and everything was in great condition! There was even a KitchenAid mixer!! There was plenty of indoor and outdoor seating that could accommodate our group together. The bedrooms were also great! Definitely one of the better houses we’ve stayed in!

Pros: The house is beautiful! It was spacious and accommodating. Bedrooms were all lovely, balconies all around the house. Game room in basement was great! The pool and hot tub were great. The location was convenient, about 5-7 minute walk to the beach. It's close to food shopping as well. Cons: The kitchen! Large spacious kitchen but it was dirty and disorganized. The fridge was a hodgepodge of mismatched/missing shelves, missing drawer, no light or water filter for the fridge and rusty. The utensils looked like almost everything came from a yard sale, flea market, thrift store. The stove made a constant noise while on, a weird safety feature for irresponsible people maybe? Very annoying 😒 Drawers and cabinets disorganized, nothing where you would think it should be. There were 3 coffee makers. They were not the best. A small weird off version of a Keurig, a filthy old thing, and a really nice one that had unusually large filters and the only food store in town was out of them which resulted in me going to Ugly Mugs for delicious coffee several times. I would ask the owner if they're comfortable using this kitchen. I am a mother of six. I need a usable kitchen. It would not cost much to fix those issues. A large griddle would be a plus for making large breakfasts for large groups of people (pancakes, french toast, eggs, etc.) The grill was also filthy, needed to be cleaned before it could be used. There were several missing light bulbs around the house with an empty light bulb box in the closet. Maintenance came out because circuit breaker in master bedroom kept tripping for no obvious reason. I had a lightless ceiling fan on, one nightstand light, and Alexa on, that was it but circuit tripped several times. No explanation or solution. The lawn/yard was the only one in the development that hadn't been mowed in ages. There were weeds with little prickers that attached themselves to everything and were stepped on throughout the house. Mow the lawn, organize and clean the kitchen. Other small issues, the dust, tops of dressers, anything not immediately visible was dusty. I could write my name in it. Moldy shower in master suite. I took pics and sent to management. We all did enjoyed our time at the Shark Tank. I left this review because I was invited to do so.
