An interesting and somewhat unusual stay

The locale is very interesting. The hotel is an old nineteenth century manor that clearly has not had much done to it in several decades so it is a bit run down. It is located right next to what has recently been discovered to be the location of the Viking-era port of Truso - go and see the archaeological findings at the museum in Elblag if you can. The owners of the place are great, and good to talk with.

The accommodation is definitely not luxurious, but you have no right to expect such things at the price. The rooms are simple and clean, with the bathrooms feeling somewhat damp. There is no breakfast.

Uncomfortable

We are allowed with animals(2 cats) for free. The hostess was friendly. Free parking. Breakfast (although for a separate and not very small fee) was appropriate (as the place is rather isolated).

The room upon reservation was called "garden view suite". In fact, it was consisted of 2 tiny rooms under the roof, where a very narrow and steep staircase led. You can call it "a suite" only in comparison with an orphanage. A refrigerator and tea/coffee maker are in the room description. None of this was in the rooms (although, in fairness, some shabby semblance of a refrigerator and a sprawling kettle stood on the landing). The furnishings of both rooms consisted mainly of beds (there were 5 of them for the three of us), very low and uncomfortable. There were no bulbs in the wall lamps, so no need to talk about WiFi. As for the view: what could be seen through the tiny windows was clearly not a garden, but some kind of dilapidated outbuildings. But the crown of everything was the bathroom. The plastic toilet seat is broken, so you get up from the toilet with it together. We have never seen such a short bath (it is not clear why it is needed at all, why not a shower). However, it does not matter: it is impossible to wash anyway. The water is either icy or almost boiling, and any attempts to regulate it are doomed. But even such water does not always flow: in the morning there was no water (even in the toilet!) for about 40 minutes (remember that the room was under the roof, and in order to contact the staff, one had to go downstairs and then climb the steep stairs again).

The only good things were that there were beds and hot water and toilet there.

The facilities were very old and poor, breakfast consisted of tea, a little bit of scrambled eggs, cheese, ham and bread. No porridge, just cereals. And costed 20 Zl for one person! There were also mosquitos..
