Broadford Barn - Barn conversion in picturesque village

Very well equipped for cooking. Pod coffee maker and a cafetiere, but curiously no teapot. I do not make tea by dunking a teabag in a mug! Plenty of towels and teatowels Good location between Guildford & Godalming. Well placed for the crematorium where we were attending a service. Shalford has a railway station and a 'bus service. Facilities in the village were walkable Nice countryside in the area Nice bathroom Dishwasher tablets and liquid provided

Despite requesting feather free bedding throughout the accommodation, this was ignored. We requested this because of allergies. The downstairs bed settee had a synthetic duvet but we had to put the duvet cover and pillowcases on ourselves. There was a feather duvet and feather pillows upstairs and we did not discover a spare synthetic duvet till day 2. However we had to come into contact with feathers to change the bedlinen over and as a result were left using inhalers and sneezing. We then had to try and find somewhere to store the feather duvet. Allergies are a serious matter and can be life-threatening. We do not feel the owner took this on board. We had offered to bring our own bedding if there was a problem. Beds should be made up as requested. Very busy road outside and on a sharp bend with fast traffic. Roadworks taking place right outside (not the owner's fault). Had to park elsewhere (but not too far away) as reversing into the driveway was too hazardous Inside the house was clean. Outside was unkempt - discarded margarine lid, overgrown and green algae growing on the barn door. Velux window was filthy - it isn't now as I cleaned it. Since it swivels in for cleaning this would be easy to do on a regular basis and on such a busy road regular cleaning is essential. First impressions count and this property did not present well initially. Very low headroom upstairs. I'm only 5' 2" and had to be careful when getting out of bed. Bathroom is downstairs, so although the property sleeps 4, you'd have to know the people downstairs well if you need to use the bathroom during the night as it is accessed off their sleeping area. Suspect the property may have a drainage issue as there was an issue with back siphonage in the bathroom. Most airbnb properties we've stayed in have shower gel. This one didn't, so take your own.

Clean and well equipped including good WiFi and smart TV. Good personal communication with friendly owner. Minor problem with property was sorted out very quickly and fairly. Nice canal side walks right outside.

Although there is parking, it’s shared and rather small.

A perfect base for our weekend. At first I was concerned about the proximity to the road but it really wasn’t an issue. A super comfortable place to stay. All very clean and beautiful routes to run right on the doorstep.

The fact parking in front of the property wasn’t in fact recommended, given the busy road and need to reverse out onto it (advice only received after parking up!) Parking nearby wasn’t a big issue though.

Appreciated the tea, coffee etc left for us. comfy beds and lovely equipment in the kitchen.

The traffic from the road was a problem for us. No outside sitting area.
