Leaking AC unit not fixed during 6 day stay, soaking carpets & mildew. Resort allows slumlords in it

The resort location was great we saw a rainbow almost every morning from our lanai. We even saw a rare moonbow (night rainbow from a full moon).

The Air Conditioning unit in the master bedroom was leaking onto the lamp, table, and carpet floor below it when we first checked into the unit and afterward whenever we ran the AC. The carpet was soaked as soon as we entered and only got worse throughout our 6 day stay. I informed the owner immediately, and an AI bot chatted with me for 3 days. Then, finally a real person / property manager contacted me, and i gave permission to enter. But no maintenance person ever came out during our 6 day stay to fix anything. We ended up putting 2 large mixing bowls under the leak & emptied each about 10 times during our stay. My wife couldn't sleep with the constant dripping sound & mildew smell in the room. This isn't a vacation rental, it's a health hazard. Hanalei Bay Resort said they couldn't help and have no control over quality standard of the landlords in their resort. Hanalei Bay Resort should be ashamed to have their name associated with this rental.

Unreliable booking company

You changed our booking for Hanalei bay resort at last minute to a house. It was a beautiful house but we wanted to stay at the resort. Basically you screwed us at the last minute when it was too late for us to find other accommodations!

Never Again

We loved the resort itself. The pool and hot tub were amazing. The view from the condo was great.

We did not like the condo. First of all, it was on the third floor with no elevator. That should have been put in the description. Secondly, it's a looong walk from the parking lot, the hot tub, and restaurants. It's all uphill going from the condo to just about everywhere else at the resort. That, too, should be in the description. The resort does have a bellman who can come pick guests up with their golf cart, but half the time, it takes them 15 minutes or longer to get there. Once, we spent 30 minutes waiting in the parking lot with heavy bags of groceries before we finally carried everything to the front desk to ask for a ride. My husband had already made a trip over there to see if our ride was coming yet. Third, it is a condo, but there was a door that led to the "hotel" or "lockout unit" next door, right next to the master bedroom. We could hear a TV while we were trying to sleep. I also had a coughing fit one night and was afraid I'd wake up the people on the other side of the door. Finally, the family photos everywhere were just weird. We felt like we were invading someone's space. While the pool and hot tub are amazing, they just aren't enough to bring us back to Hanalei Bay Resort.

No breakfast

A/CToo long and steep of a walk to and from the restaurant/pool/parking area. Poor view of the ocean and Hanalei Bay. Not what was represented. Several buildings had better views perhaps more costly but no choice given at the time of making the reservation. Cabinet doors in kitchen didn't close correctly. This was the observation from a review given 2 years ago by another person. Its a simple fix! Also difficult to adjust the A/C almost impossible!

Beautiful area and grounds but probably won't go back to Hanalei Bay Resort until changes made.

The property is nicely landscaped throughout and the room in which we stayed had a great view. Vacasa was easy to work with.

Vacasa was good to work with but the Hanalei Bay Resort, in which the property was located, increased charges in the new year...after it was really too late to reserve something else. This increase despite the fact that some of the amenities (swimup bar, one of the restaurants, and the gift shop) appeared to be closed indefinitely. The Happy Talk bar and grill had strange policies and was difficult to work with. Otherwise the grounds were quite beautiful and well kept. Everyone who worked at the resort was very friendly and helpful but ownership/management appears to be unconcerned about anything but making money with minimal costs. .

The room was beautiful but it was hard walking to the car or restaurant each day for someone with bad knees. Waiting for the carts often times took a while. Perhaps add a few additional carts during the busy season.

Great location. Very casual resort. Nice pool facilities and a lively restaurant bar. Food was decent.

There were some issues with aging appliance and such. no hot water one day, dryer wasn't working most of the time etc. Nothing major.
