We had a great stay, over the new year.
I was a little concerned as all the living space is together but the cottage is so well designed, all my concerns were unfounded.
The underfloor heating was so nice.
All equipment was high quality.
Location was excellent, with a car parking space, which is shared with the flat upstairs. The space looks a little daunting, but there is room 2 cars.
The only negative- I'd recommend the skylights in the second bedroom have blinds fitted.
We stayed in the winter so it was not a big problem for us, but that would not be the case if we'd have stayed in the summer.

The location was brilliant. Also really good size for what we needed. No stairs which was a bonus having 2 young kids. Really comfortable. Would stay there again.
There was a constant flushing noise from the toilet which could be blocked out if you close the bedroom door but I couldn’t with having the kids. Also it’s on a main road, which was noisy. But I’m a light sleeper. My husband slept through the lot.

Everything: the location, the house & having a parking spot. The house is very nice and you can tell the owners take very good care of it. Having a washer is very convenient and so is the dishwasher. You're almost in the centre of Ambleside but not far from Waterhead either. We walked there every day
The shower. Getting the whole bathroom wet when showering was uncomfortable, but we got better at working around it

Had a ceiling fan in the bedroom which was good to have on a hot night

Clean, well appointed, comfortable and convenient for Ambleside.
Beds were comfortable, linen was clean. Towels included. Lots of hot water for showers.
Complimentary tea/coffee, sugar, milk and a bottle of wine.
Lots of wardrobe and drawers for clothes. Ironing board and iron as well as cleaning products, washing and dishwasher tablets. Washing machine combined with tuble dryer was useful. Hairdryers in both bedrooms was appreciated.
Accommodation felt secure, lighting at front was good when returning at night. Car could be parked directly outside property off the road.
All the kitchen utensils you could possibly need. Oven, hob and microwave plus lots of options for dining out in Ambleside. Large fridge and small freezer ensured could purchase food in one go.
Televisions in all rooms, radio as well which was a nice touch. Warm throughout and comfortable seating in kitchen and living area.
Decorated nicely to a high standard. Owners were super responsive to messages. Easy to book and entry instructions sent in advance.
There wasn't anything we didn't like.

The apartment had everything you needed to make you feel at home. The additional touches such as leaving us a bottle of wine and a pint of milk were much appreciated. We go to Ambleside every year but normally stay in a hotel. This time we decided to try an apartment as we wanted a bit more space than one room and loved it. We liked it so much we have decided not to stay in a hotel again next year when we are back in Ambleside and will hopefully be able to book this one again. We like it is central to the bars, cafes and restaurants that we normally frequent.

A stunning, spotlessly clean and quirky cottage. Excellent location to shops, pubs and eateries. We were welcomed with a lovely bottle of wine! How kind 😊 Very good communication with the hosts prior and post visit. Would absolutely love to return again to this beautiful hidden gem in Ambleside x

there is nothing not to like. I have stayed in many rentals but none have been as immaculate as 1 The Old Coach House. it felt like home to home. excellent location. parking is tight but once we’d parked up our car didn’t move for 4 days so wasn’t a problem. would highly recommend this venue

We dident expect the property to be located actualy on the road side and the parking area was very tight for two cars. This made it very tricky getting in and out with the heavy trafick .

There was no WiFi, and there was no control over the thermostat (a degree or two lower on hot nights would have been preferred — or a standing fan). Traffic could be loud, but usually died down by 10pm.

Tolles Interieur. Der Ort ist super als Ausgangspunkt für Wanderungen.
Sehr nach Putzmittel riechend. Im Bad muffig. Die Wohnung 1 und das Schlafzimmer mit Doppelbett ist direkt zur Straße. Deswegen sehr laut. Auch die Küche Wohnzimmer zur Strasse
