85 km north-east of Kuopio, River Alaluostanjoki 30 m (width of river at point of cottage 80-100 m), rather deep, soft river shore suitable only for good swimmers. Additionally, shallow sandy shore 3 km away at Lake Ala-Luosta, where own boat. Planed log cottage 1999, vestibule, living room/kitchen , bedroom 160 cm wide double bed, washroom, sauna (electric stove); terraces on both sides of building. Sleeping loft (6 m²) with bedroom 2 beds, lounge area/hall and balcony. Child’s safety gate at top of steep stairs. Level, grassed yard area, 30 m from Alaluosta road. Cottage has mechanical ventilation; gas-fired barbecue grill on terrace. In yard patio, garden swing, table and chairs. Yard buildings also include a storeroom.
Rather steep grassed slope from cottage terrace to river bank/shore. River bank has a roofed grill with a barbecue grill and fish smoking oven. River Luostanjoki is ideal for canoeing. Nice berry and mushroom picking areas.
From river can fish perch and pike. Rainbow trout stocked in river annually. In Luostanjoki river it isn't allowed to fish with hook and line or net fishing. Allowed is lure fishing and fly fishing by purchasing local fishing license. Please ask the caretaker aout fishing lisences.
Rautavaara town centre 25 km, Tahko holiday resort services 45 km, Tiirin Golf and hobby opportunities 30 km, Metsäkartano 48 km, Tiilikkajärvi National Park 40 km. Pisavuori nature reserve, observation tower, nature trail and old Täyssinnä border stone 26 km. Lastukoski rapids for fishing is 25 km away.
