We spent a wonderful time at Villa Alexandrou, a beautiful, spacious and charming house, perfect for a large group where everyone can have their own room. Each bedroom comes with its own bathroom, which makes the stay extra comfortable.
The courtyard is fantastic, ideal for relaxing, chatting, and enjoying the peace of the quiet village. There’s also a small pool that the kids absolutely loved. Around the villa, you’ll find many picturesque villages of Apokoronas and several beaches within just a 15–20 minute drive, making it a great base for exploring central and western Crete.
The location is even better thanks to the excellent traditional taverna right next door.
Special mention to the host, who was extremely welcoming and flexible; he kindly allowed us to check in very early and check out late without any extra charge, which made our trip so much easier.
Highly recommended!
Not a big deal for most groups but the two upper rooms have poor sound insulation with the common kitchen (in return, you get your own terrace). So if you like to sleep longer while the rest of the group is already up, it’s better to choose one of the other rooms.

Excellent host, great location close to an excellent taverna with very good traditional food, quiete place, strategic to reach the different landmarks and the best beaches of Crete by car. The swimming pool is also a good plus, the kids loved it.

The Villa was lovely, with a good sized communal area and traditional feel to it. There was plenty of outside space and a host of flowers and plants!
Manolis the host was super relaxed and very helpful. He was understanding of a delayed flight and stayed late to show us the property.
The pool was lovely and they had a little paddling pool suitable for toddlers.
The resteraunt literally outside the villa was amazing with super friendly staff who were also the neighbours.
All in all... Loved it.
The beds had very firm sprung mattresses, not great if your used to a modern soft mattress.
Location wise it's a bit out of the way so everything is a 10 minute drive, but easily do'able since you need a car to get there.
If you have a larger hire car, stick to the main road through town... Do not let navigation take you the small roads, otherwise you'd better have excess insurance and nerves of steel.
