Great cottage, comfortable, warm great location.

The location, general decoration, abundance of TVs! Bathroom great, number of bedrooms. Heating very effective...great for the time of year.

Cutlery was a bit flimsy, only one small saucepan, no can opener....lots of bottle openers though! Parking needs thinking about each day, given the permit scheme. Not owners fault though!

Lovely snug accommodation in a great location.

Location great for day trips. Convenient for shopping, bars and restaurants. Warm snug accommodation with large well equipped kitchen diner. Lovely log fire for chilling

Only one bathroom but workable. Beds were a bit soft. No specific bins for recycling rubbish. No specific parking.

KUDOS TO OAK COTTAGE PENRITH

Oaks Cottage is the best place I've enjoyed in my traveling history. It's located in a good environment. The cottage is very neat, clean, and comfortable. They provided more than enough for our comfort, with welcome gifts of a bottle of wine and other items. My family members and friends who came to visit had positive experiences there. The bedrooms were spacious, neat, and comfortable. It is a home away from home. I vow to revisit when I'm next visiting my family and friends in Penrith.

The mattress needs to be upgraded or replaced, especially the one in the master bedroom. It has outlived its purpose, but it is still manageable. Also, the check-in was delayed. I was able to check in at 6:00 p.m. instead of 3:00 p.m., which caused my family and me a lot of discomfort while hanging around town. However, the discomfort was overcome with satisfaction when we finally checked in.

Great place to stay with a small group.

Warm (great heating system), well equipped kitchen. Very clean, lounge and dining area comfortable and welcoming.

Basement bedroom smelled damp (although bedding etc all fine). Could do with another toilet at least if hosting 6 people. Listing says it has parking but it is just on-street and not that easy to manage with more than one vehicle. But overall v good value for money, these are points not complaints!

Very disappointing as this was a treat for my daughter who had been in hospital.

The location

The property was dirty, it hadn’t been cleaned properly. The dishes in the cupboard were wet and hadn’t been dried before putting away. The garden was overgrown with weeds, not nice to sit outside but in. The beds were so uncomfortable especially the two single beds. The bed sheets in the master bedroom were very bobbled and ripped. The window was broken and wouldn’t shut properly. We had 2 towels and one hand towel that were stained and thin.

A well loved cottage, excellent location.

Lovely, clean and well equipped cottage. Large dining table and an outside private yard. Central and walking distance to everything in Penrith.

Lack of toilet in the basement bedroom, a good trek through the night to use the upstairs bathroom. Living room was very cosy but not big enough to seat 6 of us.

Comfortable and clean in good location

Owner fixed hot water issue promptly. Good communication and the hot water was restored while we were out sightseeing. Good range of local information for sightseeing.

Oven was slow to heat. No instructions for the "smart tv".

Ideal, well kept family accommodation close to town

Everything about the place. Handy location, warm, clean, comfortable and well equipped property. Without meeting them you can tell the hosts clearly care about their guests. Ours was a business/family visit to the area and the property is handy for just about everything, pubs cafes restaurants shopping sightseeing with easy access to the motorway. Definitely recommend it and will be our first choice if we revisit the area.

Parking can be a bit of a pain if you have someone in your group with mobility issues. However plenty of parking locally if don't mind a few minutes walk if I'm picky.

Great location and lovely comfortable cottage

The location was perfect and the size of the cottage was really good. The welcome bottle of Prosecco was very welcome.

The towels seem overdue for replacement but were clean likewise with the bedsheet and mattress protector. This isn’t a criticism on the cleanliness of the house.

Was ok, but wouldn’t stay there again

The location was good.

The property does not have parking, we ended up having to move cars several times and pay for parking. The house is too small for 6 adults & with only one bathroom it’s not ideal. The basement bedroom smelt damp and was very cold.

Very good location to town centre.

A very minor issue, but we had to go and buy shampoo and soap. Not a big deal but not obvious from the booking details. Many very small bottles could be provided.

Great well appointed cottage to base yourself in whilst exploring this part of the Lakes.

Location, so close to allow you to easily walk into town and supermarket. Kitchen was well equipped, and we had a welcome pack on arrival, which is always well received. House was clean & tidy. Car Parking disk was supplied with the property. Good useful house and local information pack provided.

TV's were a bit challenging to operate. Nothing else. All good thanks.

Comfortable beds and well equipped kitchen, good central location

Despite filtering needs parking, this property came up but I'm not sure parking on the road for 2 hours during the day really counts. Small points but TV in bedroom wasn't near any sockets, clocks and remote controls didn't work, didn't realise I needed to take batteries with me, all very irritating.

Beautiful central spacious cottage. Immaculate and clean and all amenities required for a lovely stay in Penrith. Special mention to the host Phil who was excellent at communication and super helpful with local tips and advice for restaurants and pubs. Thanks for sharing your home. We had a lovely weekend and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend!

bathroom was fantastic!

had trouble finding the flat on check in as there was no door number on the booking information. tried to call number provided but no answer. however after this communication with host was easy and they were very accommodating allowing us late check out and to leave our bags in the property until we had to leave.

Great location, right in the heart of Penrith and the house was very well equipped, nicely decorated and the welcome pack was well, very welcome

No on-site parking, though there are options close by. Front room was a little small, but other than that good space in all the other rooms and a good sized kitchen.

gut saniertes altes Haus an der Hauptstraße

Das Haus hat eine gute Lage, wenige Meter zum Supermarkt und zum Bus, die Straße ist allerdings ziemlich stark befahren, es kommt zu Lärmbelästigung, da die Fenster auch nicht 100% schließen. das Haus hat eine tolle Heizung, konnten unsere Sachen schnell trocknen, die Küche ist groß und wir hatten alle Platz am Tisch

die Einzelbetten sind sehr schmal und sehr unbequem, Kommunikation mit dem Vermieter war nicht möglich, wir hätten gern einen späten check out gehabt, 10.00 Uhr aus checken ist echt früh, aber unserer Anfragen wurden gar nicht beantwortet
