Cortijo La Hoya es un paraíso, un lugar perfecto para relajarse. El alojamiento está decorado con mucho gusto y tiene todo lo necesario. Rafa, el propietario, siempre muy atento. Es la segunda vez que vamos y, sin duda, repetiremos.

We spent ten days like in a fairytale at Casa Sol, which immediately became 'our home', ideal for our way of understanding a holiday between beauty, relaxation, inspiration and nature. Contemplating ocean and Mediterraneo meeting and the African coast. Living the Cortijo La Hoya is a bit like being in a beautiful botanical garden and a lush jungle, knowing that for anything you need within walking distance there is Rafael, and Carla on WhatsApp, who are happy with great discretion ti make your vacation perfect. We hope to be back soon. Highly recommended. Bring lots of books and yes, go shopping for the pantry (it's true the 3 km of dirt road may seem tiring at first, but you get used to it quickly and it's really worth it!).

The view is spectacular, you can see Africa from your little cottage/yard/pool if it's clear. The garden/yard is nice, well tended, with many flowers and you may be able to enjoy a quiet relaxing time (if you don't have neighbours). The house is well furnished, the bed was comfortable, there's a terrace with a gas BBQ. The property probably had its peak some years ago, now it looks a little shabby, but still decorated with nice both rural and modern taste.

If you have neighbours (and that's probably the case), expect it to be quite noisy. We stayed in one of the houses at ground level (there are 2 joined houses) and we could hear the neighbours talking, watching tv, washing dishes and rummaging through the cupboards - practicly you hear everything (fortunately, the bedroom is quieter, but one expects to spend the evening outside and/or in the living room before retiring to bed). The pool was not very clean and, worst of all, had pool bugs. We stayed for a few days and we didn't see anyone cleaning it. Also, the gas tank of the BBQ on the terrace was empty - we were expecting to be able to make a bbq without having to ask the hosts for a new tank..

We loved the peaceful location and the great shower. The casa had everything we needed. Lying in the sun watching eagles overhead with only the sound of birds is hard to beat. My photos are of Casa Luna. Casa Sol is similar but a little smaller however it has a fraction more privacy. Both have sea views which the larger apartment upstairs doesn't unless you go up to the roof terrace. The gardens are lovely with places to sit in both sun and shade. Both wifi and tv were excellent with Netflix and Prime. Don't forget to sign out if you use them.

The only thing that would have improved our stay would have been if the pool was heated but this really wasn't an issue. Make sure your roaming is switched off on your phone as it can pick up Moroccan services.
