This house was perfect. Great location. The house was beautifully appointed. It had everything you would need for a comfortable trip. Thanks so much we plan to rent again.

All family member travled from out of town with the first snow storm. I phoned Brain to let him know after 11pm check in. He had the lights turned on when we arrived. We enjoyed the welcome basket!!! The house was just what we needed for our gathering. So much room and comfort. The house was clean with all the amenities of home. I would stay at this property again most definitely! Perfect house for our weekend football trip. House was super clean and newly renovated. Great neighborhood for walking to restaurants and bars in Royal Oak. Host was super friendly and provided recommendations for us. Would definitely stay here again!

There were four of us, all adult women. Needed a place to stay last minute. The owner was quick to respond and very accommodating of our last minute request. Even let us tour the house before signing the contract. The house was spotless, and well-equipped. We had everything we needed for food prep and linens. The location was great. Quiet neighborhood, just 15 minutes from downtown. There were plenty of restaurants and grocery stores within a mile of the house. Would definitely rent it again.

This home was the nicest rental we’ve ever stayed in. Everything is of the highest quality from the finishes to the bedding to the kindness and thoughtfulness of the hosts. They thought of everything down to the last detail and even dropped off an amazing thanksgiving cake as a gift to our family (we were there for thanksgiving). Will definitely stay again when we’re back in the area!

The property was clean and well supplied with everything we might need. Brian had toys available for our toddlers as well as a crib and high chair. We were able to walk to many of our wedding events and in town for dinner. We were a party of 6 adults with 2 little ones and we had plenty of space. Recommend this property!

This property and host was great for our entire family. All was well thought out and everything we needed was avaliable. We walked into the house with a welcome basket that seemed to be made for us like they knew us personally. They even had toys, crib, highchair and inflatable beds ready. There were also plug covers to keep my little one safe. Everyone in the family kept saying this is the best place they have stayed in and everything that we needed they had for us. It was a great experience and we would definitely book with this property and host again!

Our family and friends really enjoyed this home and neighborhood. The house was perfect for our one year old with family and friends. The layout was just what we needed. The host was very quick to answer all of our questions and went above and beyond. From the welcome gifts to the highchair, toys, bathtub, game area and crib for our one year old. We are originally from the Metro Detroit area and now live overseas…we rented the place for approximately 3 weeks for an annual visit this year (we hadn’t returned to Michigan since the Covid pandemic). We were interested in the place as it is walkable distance to Royal Oak and close to Ferndale (where I used to have a home) and wanted to be in a good, central location. The core group was our family of four, but we also had other family members staying with us from time to time (i.e. visiting nieces/grandparents, etc.). We loved the place! There are 4 spacious bedrooms; the master has a great walk-in shower with dual showerheads and the bed is top-notch (we have a Serta at home and when we normally travel, our backs are normally ‘wrecked’ – not in this case). The other beds were also comfy! They really thought of everything – the fridge was stocked with bottled water, Keurig had a tray of coffee pods under it, there was a welcome basket, etc. There was also extra toilet paper, paper towels, laundry products, etc. We also appreciated the large amount of towels, bath items, etc. The place was wonderfully clean, well-appointed, and set-up really nice (large dining table, ample kitchen island, etc.). Fridge was huge, washer/dryer were modern, etc. The backyard is also a great little oasis, with cornhole, a Weber grill, etc. The host was kind enough to let us host BBQs with friends and family, as it is very hard to see all the people you need to see!

I want to gatekeep this property but I won’t :) My mom is super picky about where she stays on vacation - it’s 5 star resorts or nothing for her. She LOVED this place. Everything is newly remodeled, the entire house is fully stocked with literally everything you could need. It’s truly like being at home! Location is so centrally located and perfectly nestled off of Woodward in one of my dream historic neighborhoods (and I’m a native Detroiter!) They had everything that we needed for kids as well - high chair, toys, crib, plates/cups, etc. I cannot speak more highly about the hospitality, ease of check in/out, communication from our hosts. Not to mention our adorable welcome gift! The best hosts I’ve ever encountered. We won’t be staying anywhere else when we visit friends and family at home in the D!

This property is amazing and just what we were looking for. In town for a family wedding, the happy couple and other family members stayed in this absolutely beautiful home. From the moment you open the doors we knew this was going to be an amazing experience. There are multiple bedrooms upstairs (mattresses are SO comfortable) and in each there is a TV, dresser/closet and even air purifiers. There is also a bonus bedroom in the basement - next to another great room - perfect for the young married couple. It was almost like a separate apartment for them. Everything was stocked that we needed. The beautiful appliances, cabinetry/counters, and comfortable furniture were also lovely. There is a large dining table and large island. Again, perfect for morning coffee and breakfast. There is even a steamer for that last-minute dress preparation - such a life saver! Just a mile or two from downtown Royal Oak, which is perfect for many dining, coffee, shopping options. The locked gate for cars was great. And the front porch (complete with twinkle lights) for morning coffee was great. Backyard complete with grill and picnic table. The host, Brian, checked in multiple times to make sure we had everything we needed. If you are looking for a quiet, beautiful home to relax in then this is your place. We will be back!

Loved our stay! Nice neighborhood close to downtown Royal Oak. We walked to a coffee shop and had a short drive to great restaurants! Highly recommend!

Property had everything we needed from excellent choices in the kitchen to extra towels, bedding and a fantastic laundry room, great private yard and quaint comfy porch! Plenty of room in driveway for extra cars. Fabulous!

I hosted a buddies' get-together of 5 and this home was perfect for us: pristine & updated throughout, lovely backyard, a great walkable neighborhood a short drive from downtown Detroit. Brian has clearly put alot of thought into all the details and it shows. (Some examples: lawn games and string lights in the backyard, a truly stocked kitchen with all the staples & tools, and a clear-yet-thorough guide to the home!) Much like the other reviews say, Brian is an exceptional host and clearly cares about guests enjoying the place. From the seamless arrival to the pleasant check-in texts to see how we were enjoying ourselves, he was a pleasure to work with. Highly recommend for families or friend groups!

We loved our stay in Royal Oak, MI. The property is spacious, clean and well appointed. It is perfect for a small family gathering such as ours. It is also in a charming neighborhood. Our host, Brian, was terrific with great communication prior to our stay and periodic check-ins during our stay to make sure everything was ok. He definitely went above and beyond to ensure that our birthday celebration weekend with family was special and memorable.

Beautiful home in a lovely neighborhood. Looks exactly as pictured and is perfect for families with small children. You will have everything you need! The home is stocked with amenities it truly feels like home away from home and not a bare bones vacation rental. The property manager provided amazing service was super communicative and left us a beautiful welcome gift. We had a wonderful stay and look forward to returning!

We enjoyed our second stay at this property. It was a great spot to host Christmas for our family! Brian is an excellent host and made sure everything went smoothly for our visit. The house was decorated for the Holidays which made it even more special.

Brian is a great host! We have stayed at Oakdale on two occasions. Brian's home is super clean, comfortable, and beautifully appointed, including seasonal decorations! The neighborhood is lovely and convenient to great restaurants and shops in Royal Oak. We also appreciate the central location to any destination in Metro Detroit. Brian is a great communicator and is genuine in his actions and intent to ensure a great stay. His communication before, during, and following our visit was appropriate and thoughtful. A gift basket with local and tasty goodies greeted us upon arrival. Several bottles of water were stocked in the fridge. The kitchen was well-stocked with basics. We shipped some items, and he notified us of their safe arrival while we were in transit to Oakdale. Every image and description listed is accurate. We will happily stay again at this or any other property hosted by Brian.

We had a lot of family and friends joining us from out of state for a family event. Not only did this lovely home have space for family to retreat and relax in, it gave us a place to meet up both prior to and after the event. With the lovely porch, and backyard seating, everyone was able to connect for conversations with family some hadn’t seen in awhile. Perfect space!

I must say..., "This Place was Outstanding." We did not want for nothing. Check-in was Great, The Place was clean and it had everything a family would need. The location is "Outstanding." In walking distance from downtown Royal Oak. Also, I can not forget the host, Brian. Our communication with him started before our arrival and during our stay. He was always there if we had any question. Thanks again Brian for a Great VRBO experience.

Brian a wonderful host. When we first arrived to the property we had a beautiful welcome basket. The home has everything you need from upscale appliances, all the plating, pots & pans, utensils and starter seasoning you need to create a wonderful meal. You have access to Keurig coffee machine or regular Mr. coffee pot. Toaster oven and large gas stove. The laundry room has all LG appliances. (Tide/ Gain/ Bounce provided) Rather you stay a few days, a month or longer Oakdale the place to stay. The bathrooms are all spacious especially in the master bath. Brian is flexible and works with you. I needed to extend my stay on multiple occasions and Brian was very accommodating. When being displaced from my home for a ventilation issue it’s been an extremely upsetting experience but, Brian our host has been so kind, gracious & understanding. My parents are elderly and I’m their caregiver the home has been very accommodating. Each room has a special theme and the basement area very comfortable. I work from home and the internet connection fast. I never missed a beat. My parents have enjoyed the master bedroom area & bath. It reminds them of home which made it an easy transition. I’m so grateful for this experience at Oakdale and Brian is the best host! If you want a true lux experience Oakdale the place to stay!

I had a wonderful experience at The Oakdale Property. Brian our host has gone above and beyond to ensure myself and family had a great time at the property. Brian communicates with you on a regular bases or when needed. He responds immediately to any questions you have. He’s made this a remarkable experience.

I was displaced because of some issues I had in my home. Brian has gone above and beyond as a host. When I needed to extend my rental Brian was very accommodating. We had a few snow storms not one morning did I wake up to snow on the ground. Brian text me each snow storm and had his snow team out shortly after each storm. The home design is a pure luxury experience. The home has more than enough room for an entire family without anyone on top of each other. Since I’m the care giver for my parents I’m able to have them with me here with me at the home. My experience has been truly remarkable. I can’t thank Brian enough for being so flexible and accommodating. Brian checks in to make sure everything going well and he’s a wonderful host. If you want a true lux experience with a kind & gracious host Oakdale is the place to stay. I’m truly blessed and highly favored to have had this experience with a great host! 5 stars ⭐️ all the way!

I can't say enough good things about this place and about Brian, the owner. The house was immaculate (I've stayed in lots of homes around the world, and this is probably one of the cleanest I've ever experienced), and came with so many nice touches throughout. The kitchen was nicely stocked (only complaint was there was no blender), but had pretty much everything else to prepare meals with! There was even salt, pepper, sugar, and a few leftover ingredients from other guests or provided by the owner. There were plenty of paper products throughout the house, detergent for laundry, soap and shampoo in each bathroom, and the super-thoughtful hampers in the bathroom made our longer stay much more like a home. Brian the owner/property manager was incredibly communicative and easy to work with. He was super responsive to any questions, and checked in on us periodically to see if we needed anything. We had a couple (extremely minor) issues with the house, and Brian responded immediately with solutions. It happened to snow while we were there, and someone was suddenly shoveling the driveway! What service! I would stay here again, and highly recommend this property. Oh, did I mention it's within walking distance of downtown Royal Oak? Super convenient to restaurants and easy to zip onto Woodward!

In summarize: Great house and great host. 5 stars in all ratings. House was in neat condition, very beautiful, and very comfortable, We liked this house very much. It is located in a nice neighborhood near the center of Royal Oak. Brian was great and very attentive. He welcomed us with some beverages and snacks at the table. Very nice from him. When we come back to Royal Oak, will definitely look to stay here again.

We rented this house while a family member had surgery at a near by hospital. It was perfect. Clean, well stocked and ready to go. This is what every rental house should be like. Plenty of room for the whole family to be together. The backyard is great with a new grill and new patio furniture. The kids enjoyed to outdoor and indoor games available to play. The front porch was perfect for morning coffee or afternoon drinks. Quiet, safe neighborhood with everything you could want near by. Brian is great host and gave us all the information I needed.

Can’t stay at a nicer home and neighborhood. Would definitely stay here again.
