About this cabin rental
** Our property experienced a small landslide in front of the cabin during Hurricane Helene. This doesn't affect the cabin at all, but has washed out the front fire pit area. We are on the schedule of a grading company to fix the issue, but as of now it has not been fixed.**
EXCEPTIONAL SALUDA CABIN! Sit on the expansive front porch and enjoy watching the sunrise over the mountains in the distance. Experience the peace of a quiet mountain cabin with the proximity to all that western North Carolina has to offer. Spend your day relaxing and enjoying the mountain views and sounds of the natural setting or make the short trips to local hiking trails, waterfalls, orchards, vineyards, and the shops and restaurants of Saluda, Flat Rock, and Hendersonville!
The Space
Raven's Roost is a classic mountain cabin perched on a knoll less than 3 miles from main street Saluda, NC. Our family has loved Saluda and the surrounding areas for many years as an "escape" from our busy work lives and a place to enjoy being outside and exploring all of the great places and activities in the WNC region. We had been actively looking at cabins in the region for approximately one year and whenever the cabin we now call Raven's Roost came available, we jumped at the opportunity! One look at the views from the property, and it was a no brainer decision! The pictures definitely don't do the views justice!
Raven's Roost boasts a large open living area complete with a modern, updated kitchen and ample space to have the whole family together. Exposed beams and wooden walls complete the cabin feel and updated furnishings lend a modern flair to the rustic space. The front porch is expansive and provides plenty of room for relaxing, soaking up the views, and even having family meals al fresco at the outdoor dining table!
The main level bedrooms both boast queen size beds and brand new modern mattresses. There are excellent mountain views from each of these rooms. They both share the hall bathroom on the main floor.
The master bedroom and bath are located on the second floor as part of the expansive loft. A king bed with new mattress welcomes you to the space with several reading nooks and another great view of the mountain ranges in the distance. The master bath boasts a double vanity, soaker tub, and walk in shower. Please note that the master sleeping area is open to the rest of the loft area and the main level living room. We have positioned furniture strategically and have a folding screen available to offer as much privacy in this space as possible, but we want everyone to be aware of this set up.
In the adjacent loft area is a daybed with a trundle pull out that makes two twin beds for additional accomodations. Combined in this space is an entertainment center and game table complete with checkers and plenty of board games, etc.
Downstairs in the gameroom/laundry room are a ping pong table and corn hole boards available to set up as you please. We have fire pits set up in the front and rear of the cabin. The front fire ring is approximately 8 steps down the front slope. The steps are lit with landscape lighting, but can be a bit precarious so please take care! The rear fire pit is just off of the back door from the kitchen and has seating for at least 6 people. A gas grill is provided in the back area as well.

Guest Access
The paved driveway up to Raven's Roost is steep, but typical of the region and can be intimidating the first several times you navigate it. Guests driving everything from compact cars to minivans have had no issues with getting to and from the cabin. In the winter months, we monitor the driveway for ice and snow and have it cleared for the safety of our guests when needed.
Guests will have access to all of the house with the exception of a locked "owner's closet".
Other Details to note
WiFi is included in your stay via T Mobile Home internet. We usually have no problems with streaming Netflix, etc and speeds tend to be 10-20 Mbps. Cell phone signal is very good at the cabin as well as mobile data speeds.
We recommend bringing your own streaming device and using the provided HDMI access points for both TV's for ease of connecting your own streaming devices, if desired. The TV in the living room is a smart TV with built in apps such as Netflix, Prime Video, etc that you are free to log in to with your own credentials. Please note that if you log in to the TV apps the "logging out" process is a bit challenging.

Our family enjoyed a great 3-night stay in Raven's Roost. Views from the porch were gorgeous, especially while watching the sun rise and listening to all the birds welcome the day. The ride into Saluda, where we spent much of our time, was conveniently short. Nice property!

My wife and I stayed at the house for a quick trip to the mountains. The location made it easy to visit Saluda, Flat Rock, and Hendersonville. The view of the sun rising each day was spectacular.

We had a wonderful stay. There are many wineries in the local area. Food options are plenty as well. The owner and point of contact we’re always there to assist and respond quickly with any issue that may arise we lost power in the middle of the night. The point of contact was up in the wee hours of the morning, assisting us in determining what was the problem. Unfortunately, for us a lamb from a tree fell on a powerline. Lineman crew were there within 45 minutes of losing power. All in all we had a great day and would recommend to anyone else.

Stayed here for the weekend with friends in order to go Snowtubing at Moonshine Mountain. The house location is awesome with lots of room for 4 adults and 4 kids. The property was really cool as well! The kids had a great time wandering the woods and building forts and collecting dead wood to build a fire in the firepit. But honestly, even if none of that would have been good (and it was) this home is worth the stay just to see the sunrise. It was unbelievable. Would definitely recommend staying here!
