Very pleasant, and the 'scruffiness' of the estate added to its charm.
The 200 year old charm of the cottage, well updated and fitted out without spoiling the character of the property. The ruined Manor House and other buildings were fascinating. The farm shop was good and the 'host' in the farm shop was friendly and informative. Interesting history of the Clan Carmichael. Nice on site restaurant. Great to meet some members of the USA branch of Clan Carmichael.
Deep potholes on the estate roads threatened our car suspension! The Visitor's Centre could do with some money spent on it to provide more 'kerb appeal' (to borrow an expression used by estate agents).

This was without doubt the worst holiday home/hotel that I have ever been in.
The location was really nice and picturesque. One positive was the help and assistance of the lady working in the estate shop.
The house was cold, damp, dirty and smelled awful. The carbon monoxide alarm went off at 01:15 and I tried to call 3 seperate emergency numbers provided by the owners and no-one answered. We had to check out after only 2 days as it was so awful and none of the owners came to see us to apologise or sdress our concerns.

A charming cottage on Carmichael Estate
The cottage was very spacious, clean and well equipped, well situated to access Peebles, Edinburgh and Glasgow, all within the hour. The estate itself is very charming and lovely for walking.
The WiFi, when it worked, was only usable in the living room. But we did manage to catch a bit of 3G/4G signal if needed so it was fine

Ideal touring location
Clean and comfortable with plenty of space. The estate it is located in was beautiful and we enjoyed seeing the deer and looking around.
Elderly mother who visited with us struggled with the toilet being downstairs overnight as they are quite steep.

Lovely place, lovely people, would definitely return.
Peace and tranquillity, good walks and location.
There was zero wild life and really missed a log fire.
