About this chalet rental
Your family and friends will enjoy an entire 3600 sq ft “A” frame Chalet on 18 private acres. The Rye Chalet is a True Artisan Chalet that sleeps up to 13. The property is Perfect for retreats, weddings, family reunions, getaways, and creatives. Breathe Vermont’s fresh woodland air, enjoy a calming scenic view of the valley and enjoy the crisp water from the chalet’s deep water well. So good.
The Rye Chalet has hosted guests like you since 2014 and they have enjoyed the custom 3-story spiral staircase, open concept with a center three story stone fireplace, Picture windows and a gorgeous wrap-around deck that looks over Hidden Valley's miles of hills, fields and streams. It is truly a custom artisan chalet.
All within an hour: a nearby state nature reserve, learn Fly Fishing at the Orvis Fly Fishing School or visit the American Museum of Fly Fishing in historic Manchester village: the Norman Rockwell Exhibition, where Norman Rockwell's models are your tour guides, at the Arlington Gallery in Arlington, hometown of Norman Rockwell 1939-53, on historic Route 7A; the world- famous Simon Pearce Glass-Blowing workshop and restaurant in Quechee, VT and the noted Billings Farm Museum in Woodstock.
Your stay also includes our seasonal Fire Pit Patio, FAST Wi-Fi, ROKU HDTVs, Artisan fireplace, a built in oven, Induction cooktop, and a welcoming well-stocked kitchen featuring a new refrigerator, dishwasher, induction cooktop, and cookware-just ask us what you need and we'll let you know if it's at the Chalet.
You will also enjoy a full bathroom on each floor with soaps and towels, two separate living rooms, a game table, a dining area. There are games galore, hundreds of well-chosen books and over 200 DVD movies. Outside, gather at the seasonal 15x25' fire pit patio, play horseshoes, corn hole, or just go for a relaxing walk.
Bringing little ones? We even have 2 high chairs, infant dinnerware, and a pack ‘n’ play with a comfy foam mattress with fresh linens.
Pets are welcome! Up to 3 well-behaved pets. Rates are $40 per night for one pet, $60 for two, $80 per night for three. We have a weekly discount and we often run seasonal specials.
An optional separate 350 sq. ft. private studio office, 5-star by work-from-homers, is available, more is below on the Creative Studio.

Book this – you will not regret it. Hands down the best host we’ve ever had. We truly felt like it mattered to Kevin that we enjoyed every part of our stay – and we did. Everything in the chalet is thoughtfully laid out, with all of the things you need, and no clutter that is not needed. Very clean and just a cozy place to be. I like to cook and this is the only VRBO we’ve ever stayed at that I actually ENJOYED using the kitchen. We appreciated how well lit the inside and outside are for walking around at night. The deck lives up to expectations, and some part of it is always shady. The property around the Chalet is amazing. Approx a .4 mile loop that was perfectly maintained (I walked it in my flip flops a few times). Our pup was in heaven. Also I’m not sure if this is normal for the area, but there were no mosquitos. This may just be the perfect vacation rental. It really shows that it is taken care of with love. We all would have definitely been happy to stay longer, and hope to be back again. Thank you so much for sharing this place with us!
