About this cottage rental
Superior Cottage includes two bedrooms with 3 beds, a futon, full kitchen and bath, living room with Roku TV and Wifi available. A newly built bunk house now offers more sleeping with 2 beds, an indoor 1/2 bath, and outdoor shower for an additional fee, please reach out and request this.
This is the perfect summer location! Watch Munising's best display of the 4th of July fireworks right from the home. Spend your time with mother nature while checking out an abundance of waterfalls, hiking trails, beach areas, and recreation trails. Protected by Grand Island and located on the East shore of Munising Bay, enjoy this quaint lake Superior cottage complete with a private 75 foot sandy beach. Bring your own water crafts to have a blast in the clear blue waters of Gitchee Gumee. Wake up to a breathtaking sunrise over the water then walk for just a moment and enjoy very near attractions like the Riptide Ride, Glass Bottom Boat Shipwreck Tours and Scuba Diving, pontoon and kayak rentals, Muldoon's Pasties (voted #1 in the UP!), Hillside Party Store with gas, and of course a public boat launch is also available. Bike trails are close and even play a round of golf on the beautiful 18 hole Pictured Rocks Golf and Country Club just a few minutes away. Just a mile to get downtown from the cottage, get an ice cream cone or specialty sandwich at Falling Rock Café and Bookstore before you enjoy a nice day walking to local gift shops, or go down to Bayshore Park to see live music and farmers markets, and of course the world known Pictured Rocks Boat Tours.
***PLEASE NOTE!! NEW owners live across the street and own the property in front of the cottage. If they park their boats on their lawn there is nothing we can do about it. Photos taken were prior to them moving in. There is a new photo to show the view when their boats are there.

Cottage is on Lake Superior but a very small access to the lake. There is a fire pit which we ended up not using. The pictures when i booked the cottage showed a beautiful view of the lake but when it came time to check in this was not the case. There were 4 to 5 boats and other vehicles parked in front blocking the view. We also had to make sure not to park on a or over a yellow line or the neighbor will have you towed. There was plenty of room to park out truck and bass boat. Location was very noisy horns going off from people parking next door and vehicles going by constantly. Trucks drove by all hours of the night making it difficult to sleep at times. There were spiders and webs everywhere outside on the deck and even on the entrance door to get in and it was disturbing to walk through them. The cottage inside was clean but definitely a handymans special. There was enough room for all 5 of us to sleep inside so we didn't pay extra for the bunk house. The kitchen is way too small if you have more than a couple people. We felt jammed in the space and only 4 could sit at the table. Beds were comfortable and clean. It was nice to do laundry there on site and they supplied soap/dryer sheets. There were plenty of towels and wash cloths. Would recommend some shampoo and conditioner for guests. Overall the stay as mediocre. It served its purpose but I would not stay at this cottage again wasn't worth the cost.

We had a wonderful family vacation here! Its location is a little private than the pictures implied, but in the heart of Munising and right on the water. It’s a gorgeous area. Property managers were very responsive to whatever we needed.

Our family of 5 had a great visit to Munising. Everything in the property listing was exactly as promised with the exception that the second room with three twins had recently been converted to two. Kindly, the property manager gave our girls access to the bunk house which was greatly appreciated. My 11-year old could have stood at the little beach area for three days straight throwing rocks. Had a blast. As described well in other reviews, this is right off the highway and next to boats taking kayakers out. Therefore, it is pretty loud. Otherwise, well-appointed, and exactly what we needed.

We showed up, thinking we were going to have a beautiful view of the lake as the owners have taken pictures from every angle, but the angles right off of the deck. There is a storage lot between the rental and Shore and our view consisted of a big brown shed, a pontoon boat, and a big black trailer. Contacted the owner about our disappointment and were told too bad. The cottage was cute and clean.
