About this cabin rental
A cozy, yet modern lake cabin where you can enjoy year-round nature and beautiful Sturgeon Lake. Enjoy your private lake access as you fish and swim from your dock and use the canoes, kayaks and paddleboards to explore the lake. Relax in the Adirondack chairs at the shore while you take in the sights and sounds of loons and bald eagles and watch amazing sunsets while having a campfire (firewood provided). Visit during the fall for amazing fall colors. Or enjoy the winter with a cozy gas fireplace in the cabin and access to the frozen lake for ice fishing and direct access to miles of snowmobile trails.
Inside the cabin is an open concept living room and kitchen great room with a gas fireplace and large windows to enjoy the trees and lake. On the main level is a bedroom with a queen bed and an adjoining bathroom. The sleeping loft includes a second queen bed and a full bed. There is AC for the summer and in-floor heat and a gas fireplace for winter. The cabin has Wi-Fi and Netflix. Outside the cabin is a deck with seating, a patio table, and a gas grill. The cabin sits on the crest of the hill looking down at the lake and trees. A 300' walking trail through the woods and a 150' trail down the hill takes you to your private lakeshore and dock. It's about a three minute walk from the cabin to the dock.
There is parking space for two cars with overflow parking available if bringing a boat, ATV or snowmobiles. Ask about local pontoon rentals starting at $800 for three days and discounted rates for additional days.
Explore local trails for walking/hiking, ATV, snowmobile, and biking. Enjoy local restaurants, shops, a brewery, or play golf and pickleball, all within a few miles of the cabin. A short drive away is Jay Cook and Banning state parks, and Duluth is just 40 minutes away.
$75 pet fee for ONE small/medium sized dog that does NOT shed. Add a pet when completing the number of guests. Sorry, no other pets are allowed. 3 night minimum during the summer and 2 night minimum the rest of the year. Max occupancy is 4 guests.

Beautiful lake view cabin in a peaceful setting. Very clean, cozy and comfortable. Enjoyed a relaxing weekend with hiking trails nearby.

While this property’s description is not false (the cabin is new, clean, tucked into the woods), we feel that some very important facts were omitted. Though we read that there was a trail to the lake, we did not realize that there was a very steep (15-degree incline), long hill that must be navigated. This fact should be made clearer in the description so that seniors or those with any sort of mobility issues would be aware. The trail also has poison ivy all along it, making this trail dangerous for anyone, especially young children and pets.Another awkward feature of this property is that there is one bathroom and it is only accessible by going through the main floor bedroom. Just beware of this fact.Less important, but not ideal, were the following drawbacks:-There is no view of the lake from the cabin, you must go down the steep hill to see the lake-The only fire-pit was at the bottom of the very steep hill and there are big patches of poison ivy around it-There is no place to put clothes other than in suitcase/duffel bag on the floor (no closet, dresser, or even a luggage rack)-The recessed LED lighting is full force with no dimmer-There is no place to sit inside and play games – no table and chairs, only the bar stools (that don’t swivel) in a row-There is no lawn – not around the cabin or down by the lakePros:The owner was attentiveWe saw loons and eaglesWe heard fishing was goodThe cabin is private, clean, AC workedGood location, by restaurants
