Your family will be close to everything when you stay at this centrally-located place. You will be within 35 minutes to the Wintergreen resort, and other close by places are Lynchburg, Liberty University, Charlottesville, and 10 minutes from our small town of Amherst. The place you will be staying at is 2.1 miles from the Rt 29.
There are several hiking places nearby, and the Blue Ridge trail just down the road follows the river and accommodates biking, horse riding and is family friendly.

Beautiful and cozy place. We booked this place to visit with our grand-daughters. Host was delightful and very sweet. The keypad to get in was a little wonky but the host has a back up plan that works every time.

The property was as pictured in the listing, and is in a very convenient location set back off the road with a big yard. There were deer in the yard a few times. The inside was clean except for the very badly stained carpet in one of the bedrooms and bath. We arrived back to the house pretty late one night and the keypad would not work. Fortunately, they had a lockbox with a key as an alternative. The keypad remained jammed for the rest of our stay. The listing said that basic items were provided, but I had to run out a couple of times for toilet paper, paper towels, bath soap and sugar for coffee, and one night when I wanted to open a bottle of wine, there was no corkscrew. A few of the windows would not lock which made me uncomfortable when staying alone. I think that a little extra care would make this a great rental.
