About this apartment rental
Built circa 1887, a meticulous renovation of The Whilden House was completed in September 2020. This historic building boasts of grand rooms, 11' ceilings, original chandeliers, moldings, plaster, and stained glass.

This 1300+ sq ft. 1st floor unit with large front porch is a close walk to great neighborhood food and the upscale shopping, restaurants and bars of Upper King St. district.
On-site parking makes for an easy and safe stay in Charleston.
The space
A wonderfully eclectic mix of fine modern seating and authentic antique furniture brings a warm comfortable feel to this spacious apartment. A full Kitchen, large rooms, high end fixtures, bathroom heat fan lights and a state of the art, secure 600mbps WiFi mesh system make this a great live-work space.
Historic architectural details unique to this apartment include 9 foot wide, working pocket doors and tripartite windows - these floor to ceiling widows add so much light!
This apartment is close to several wedding venues, including St. Luke's Chapel, The Wicliffe House, and Cannon Green, making it a lovely suite to prepare for your big day. There is ample room to be surrounded by those you love!
Walk across the street to Fuel for a cocktail or casual dinner. On the corner is Goulette, a lovely French bistro. Next door to that is R Kitchen - make reservations way in advance! A quick trip around the corner to 132 Spring will get you delicious breakfast sandwiches, and well crafted coffee, lattes and cappuccinos. Our favorite, Xaio Bao Biscuit is great for lunch and dinner, with nicely set up outside dining for social distancing.
Upper King street which is Charleston's place for vibrant night life, shopping and a vast array of restaurants to choose from, is only a 10 min walk down Cannon Street.

We loved staying in this house. It was a wonderful mix of old and new in a great location! Extremely comfortable bed. Nice kitchen stocked with coffee, creamer, bottled water and wine. Also loved having Fuel bar and restaurant across the street. Really couldn't ask for more. We will be back!

Beautiful restored apartment. Very spacious for two people. Comfortable king bed. Great towels. About a mile walk to downtown historic area but several excellent restaurants are within a few blocks. Would definitely recommend

We loved our 2 night stay in this lovely Charleston home. It was beautifully and luxuriously decorated and included a new and well stocked kitchen with a complimentary bottle of wine and snacks. Check in and check out were both easy and Robert was very responsive to any questions.
