About this house rental

Come enjoy a little slice of paradise in a relaxed, midcentury neighborhood nestled into the San Jacinto hills. This sun-filled, fully restored, 1956 architectural beauty features everything you need to make your stay wonderfully relaxing. Whether you're visiting in the summer or winter, the Blue Mirage has what you need.

Parking is in cool, shaded, secure comfort in the two-car garage, which can also be used to store golf clubs, luggage, coolers, or any other large items you'd rather not have in the house.

The kitchen is a chef's dream. Enjoy two full sets of cookware (stainless steel Calphalon and nonstick GreenPan), an extensive spice drawer, lots of appliances and utensils (and sharp knives), and tons of prep space on the large island. With a view to the hills from the sink, you're going to love cooking in this kitchen.

And while you're cooking, choose one of the classic albums to play on the vintage stereo and get a cozy fire going in the fireplace.

All the bedrooms have closets, hangers, and chest of drawers. Queen-size Leasa mattresses are in the guestrooms, and a king-size Tempurpedic memory foam mattress is in the primary en-suite bedroom. All have premium sheets and pillows. The guestrooms feature sliding glass doors opening directly to the pool, while the primary bedroom looks out on a private patio garden.

The bathrooms include shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hair dryers, and panoramic views of the hills. Premium bath towels and pool towels are provided.

Working from home? A 32" monitor, printer, and rolling desk are available to set up where you like. Just bring your laptop!

Take your pick of where to lounge about in the backyard; whether under one of the vintage malt shop umbrellas, floating in the pool, or around the fire pit. The pool umbrella makes even the hottest days feel pleasant while you doze off on the Baja shelf. Enjoy a game of Cornhole before grilling up some steaks at the outdoor BBQ bar for dinner outside under the cafe lights.

The Blue Mirage is in a great location - Palm Springs and its airport are a 20 minute drive away, and Joshua Tree National Park is about an hour away, making for a perfect day trip. Dozens of shops including Whole Foods, Target, and El Paseo Drive are 5 minutes away. The River shopping center with all its shops and movie theaters is a 5-minute walk. The Rancho Mirage Public Library is a short drive or walk. The Bump and Grind trail, a local favorite with views of the entire Coachella Valley, is easily accessible by foot from Magnesia Falls Cove.

The Blue Mirage is waiting for you!

I could just sum it up as perfect. Driving in, the neighborhood is gorgeous, quiet, and a great location. Enter the house and it is more beautiful than the pictures show. Everything was so clean and bright and open and draws you to the fabulous back yard and pool. Then oh my gosh the views! And all the different places to sit, lounge, and view from. Then to top it all off, it's so mid century modern! Everything you need is there and the host really makes you feel welcome! I am so happy I chose Blue Mirage and highly recommend it.

We had a fantastic month at the Blue Mirage. Dealing with Darcy and Stu was very easy with the few questions that we had. Their home was immaculately clean on our arrival. The quiet, location was central to shopping and restaurants. The home is a Mid Century Modern gem that has been completely renovated, almost like brand new. The private yard, pool, spa, and outdoor BBQ are also beautifully done. Lots of birds around including hummingbirds. that nested on the cactus outside our window. We were lucky to have two little eggs hatch and the new babies fly away while the grandchildren were visiting. All in all, one of the best homes that we have had the pleasure of renting in our years of coming to the desert. We'd love to come back

This home exceeded our expectations. The house is beautifully appointed, clean, well equipped and designed to flow seamlessly between the indoors and outdoors. Views of the surrounding mountains and xeriscaping create deeper connection to place. We enjoyed daily walks through the neighborhood viewing other mid-century modern homes and trying to identify the many birds (including roadrunners) who flit between flowing bushes, palm trees and cacti. The airport and downtown Palm Springs are easy to get to with other shopping and restaurants withing walking distance or a short drive. Joshua Tree National Park is about an hour drive and makes for an excellent day trip. The Rancho Mirage library, a 20 minute walk from the home, offers a free 30 day library card as well as an onsite "bookstore" with paperbacks for 50 cents and hardcovers for $1; books perfect for poolside reading. There is also an observatory at the library with plenty of programs to partake in. We had such a lovely, relaxing time at this property. Thank you to our excellent hosts. We hope to return one day.

We loved our stay at Mirage .It is in great position handy to restaurant and shops and golf courses. Great sunny back where you have wonderful sunrise and sunset. The house was exceptionally clean and tidy and had comfortable beds. We wouldn't hesitate to book again.
