Large Farm House sleeps 10+ and 15 Minutes from Charlotte City Center

We had our family together for our son’s graduation from Davidson College. Great spot. Close enough to college and airport. We even hosted a backyard barbecue for the families of my son’s roommates and they had lots of extra tables and chairs and games in the garage - which made our event flawless. It was perfect.

We booked this so our family (of 12) could all stay together for our son’s wedding at The Rafters at St Mark, about 5 minutes away. We decided to host the Welcome party there for out of state guests on Friday night too.Overall we had a great experience! Plenty of space, indoor and out, including parking! Close to stores for last minute needs. Hosts were helpful and attentive, mowing the yard the day we arrived and bringing firewood. They have extra chairs and tables on site for events. The covered porch was a huge hit and favorite spot! The main complaint was the cleanliness. If there wasn’t a sizable event fee, my expectations may not have been as high. But I had to clean the garage under and around the pool table of lollipop sticks and candy stuck to the floor, pieces of broken glass, tools, chapstick, and random boxes. The firepit had beer cans left in and around it, and a box of cigarettes. The bathrooms needed a wipe down. The biggest issue was the mold. The master bathroom garden tub had mold in the jets and filter, and the shower had mold on the vent (which I cleaned). The downstairs had black mold from a leak in the mini fridge which changed our sleeping arrangements. The owners did send their maintenance man to fix it and change the moldy baseboards that evening. He was there until almost 10pm working.Overall, the house has plenty of space and the owners were super helpful, it’s private yet close to everything. If they do a deep clean, I’d stay again!

Overall the house was amazing! Location was great! Host was very responsive throughout the whole process. Even in the beginning when I was asking about the area, how far certain places were from the hosue. There was more than enough room for the amount of people in our family of 50, inside and out. The temperature dropped on Thanksgiving, so we had to fit everyone inside. It would have been nice to have a TV in the living room to watch the football game. Disliked the kitchen, it was very small for that size house, a great addition could possibly be putting in an island. It did the job, but with all the food we had to cook, it took a bit longer. The outside outlets were blocked which we noticed on the day of the event. There were bees and ants on the windows in the upstairs bathroom and bedrooms. Other than that, I would definitely rent again for a future function.

Overall we had a decent stay here. The house is on a beautiful piece of property and very convenient to everything in Huntersville and Charlotte! We saw deer every day and it was very serene. We needed somewhere to have our usual routine and we found certain things about the property challenging. There was only one tv and it was in the basement, and there weren’t any window treatments on the back of the house (living room/ kitchen). There aren’t any homes behind the property so it’s not a big deal but made us a little uncomfortable. The house has everything you need for basic cooking. It seemed as though the house had been empty for a while because there were wasps (the property manager treated the first day but there were still more), ladybugs and stink bugs. Again, not a big deal. Overall cool spot and would be good for an event or group!
