The Cottage Up North offers the perfect blend of rustic charm and modern comfort. Nestled in a wooded setting off the beaten path—yet just minutes from Northern Michigan’s best activities—this getaway invites you to slow down, relax, and make lasting memories.
Step inside and you’ll be greeted by warm rustic beams, a charming center staircase with an open loft, and modern furnishings that create a welcoming atmosphere. The kitchen’s wraparound counter is perfect for spreading out snacks and drinks while gathering for games or puzzles. The main level also includes a queen bedroom with TV, a playful bunk area for kids, and a full bath with a tub/shower and custom wood vanity. A convenient mudroom with laundry makes it easy to drop gear after a day of adventure. While the home does not include air conditioning, box fans and screened windows let in refreshing breezes to keep the space cool and comfortable during warmer months.
Upstairs, the loft offers a cozy reading nook, along with two more bedrooms (one queen, one full) and a second full bath featuring a walk-in tiled shower.
Outdoor living is just as inviting—grill dinner on the deck, dine at the outdoor table, and unwind in Adirondack-style chairs with a drink in hand. As the sun sets, gather around the spacious firepit to share stories under the stars before starting fresh the next day.

Beautiful Cottage in Woods! We had an Amazing Stay! Our family was so relaxed and at peace in this stylish home away from home. It had all you needed. All details covered. So perfect for our family of 6! Located right down the road from Boyne Mountain. Perfect location to stay to hang in Boyne City as well. So roomy and cozy! Thank You for a great July 4th stay!

This was an absolutely perfect home for our weekend wedding needs. We were pleasantly surprised at how much bigger it actually was on the inside compared to how small it looked on the outside. We LOVED the rustic cabin feel of the home, and it conveniently had everything available that you might need. It was super clean and just lovely! We all loved this darling house in the woods!

Plenty of comfy beds and clean sheets. Nice bathrooms with amenities. Kitchen is clean.
Allow me to List few negative things:
The microwave was set up above the fridge.
We are not the tallest people and it’s unsafe!
The stairs is conducive to falls.
Plenty of bugs
Last weekend was very humid the thermostat didn’t work for cold air.
Thank you for providing desks fans it somewhat helped.
Two nights we stayed the neighbors were loud. Dogs were barking.
The trash bin was overflowing.
But other than that the location is close to Petoskey and Mackinac Island. Almost a perfect weekend getaway.
