Casa Illuminada - panoramic views, clubhouse with indoor pool, tennis court

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Very clean, large home in the unique village of Arroyo Seco. We needed 4 bedrooms, so this home fit our space requirements...2 bathrooms worked fine for us. The kitchen was well stocked and large enough for meal prep and relaxation around the dining table to chat and enjoy a glass of wine. There was great communication between our group and Kristi the care taker of the home! Big kudos to her for cleanliness of the home as well. The hot tub was extremely clean and fresh. The bed sheets and towels were of good quality and plentiful. The Den is advertised as a bedroom and could be improved by the addition of a wardrobe to hang and store clothing. The home, although adequate, requires routine maintenance on the window shades, the Saltillo tile, and the stucco on the patio. There are many loose tiles throughout the home and patio wall stucco crumbling. Additionally, the addition of window shades on the windows in the kitchen would allow better, more comfortable use of the kitchen table in the mornings. The umbrella on the patio could not be used safely as there was no umbrella stand to secure the umbrella in place. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and recommend, however it is time for maintenance. For that reason we gave 4 stars.

We had two families and had a wonderful week. Property was ready early and very clean. Property manager was easy to reach for checkin instrustions and all was as expected. Kids got to swim in the club pool and play basketball during our off times from skiing. Its a perfect distance between Taos and Taos Ski Valley. The house layout had plenty of room and was great for our families. The hot tub under the NM stars was incredible. We would definitley stay again.

Kitchen was fully stocked with anything you would need. Back yard views were beautiful! Hot tub was amazing. The subdivision was quiet and perfect for nice walks. We generally go to Colorado, but wanted to go somewhere new and likely less crowded during the pandemic. We wanted something convenient to the local attractions but also somewhat secluded and private, at least 3 BR, 2 BA, a private hot tub and a kitchen to prepare and enjoy meals. Casa Illuminada filled our needs. The location of the home was awesome to get to Taos Ski Valley while also being reasonably convenient to get to Taos Plaza, restaurants, and grocery stores.

There was a mix up with the local caretaker of the property. She was unable to properly clean the home before our arrival. The management company helped us immediately and she was able to return to the home in an effort to properly prepare the property for our stay. That said, the first impression wasn’t what you would like and tarnished our opinion of the properties cleanliness and overall fit and finish relative to a luxury vacation rental. The location and layout of the home are magnificent, but it could use a few updates before I would recommend it’s as a luxury rental (e.g., fixtures, furnishing, bedding, and a few other maintenance items).
