This OFF GRID cabin features a beautifully designed interior, oak hardwood floors, one queen bed downstairs and two queen beds in a second story loft, an oversized deck and a stone fire pit outside. Moss Rock is conveniently located in the heart of Red River Gorge minutes from the Martins Fork trail head and is the closest cabin to popular rock climbing spots like Left Flank. Whether you are enjoying the 5 minute hike to Left Flank, soaking in nearby swimming holes, engaging in kayaking or zip lining adventures or relaxing by the campfire you will be sure to find your much needed rest and relaxation at this spectacular cabin.
Moss Rock cabin is simply the best OFF GRID getaway with conveniences for those looking to enjoy nature’s beauty.

*IMPORTANT* Water is not included in this cabin, it is recommended that you bring a few gallons of water per person. You may re-fill water jugs at our office right down the road. This shelter has battery operated lanterns and natural lighting. This shelter does not have regular electricity, but does have a solar powered battery to run small lights and recharge electronics. There is no regular running water in the cabin or outhouse.
*IMPORTANT* This cabin is extremely secluded and uniquely built into the nature’s hillside. A short hike up an aggressive gravel incline is required in order to reach this private oasis.
Please note that this cabin is up a bumpy, sometimes muddy, gravel road. Small two-wheeled vehicles can make it to the cabin, but four wheel drives have an easier time.

Moss Rock is an off-grid cabin experience unlike any other. While you’ll be saying good-bye to our many modern conveniences, you’ll get to say “HELLO!” to solar-powered lighting, battery-powered lanterns and propane appliances. We hope you’ll enjoy our low-tech approach to a high-quality experience during your stay!
Kitchen: Fully finished kitchen including a gas stove, oven, 75L Yeti cooler, and french press coffee pot. Cookware, dishware, soap and kitchen linens will be provided during your stay.
Living/Dining: Bar-style countertop seating in the kitchen, a futon couch by the fireplace, and a furnished deck with a stellar view. The upstairs loft has its own balcony as well.
Bathroom: There is an outhouse nextdoor to Moss Rock you are always welcome to use the guest shower (with hot water!) and bathroom located at the Red River Gorgeous Headquarters at any time during your stay.
Bedroom: A queen size bed and full futon are located on the main level, and there are two additional queen beds on the upper level (loft).
Additional Amenities: Weber charcoal grill, porch swing, indoor propane fireplace, board games and a private fire pit.

Firewood delivery is not available for this cabin. Please be sure to put out all fires completely when you are finished and do not harvest from our woods.

The property was as described, beautiful and serene. The hike up from the road is steep, so be prepared if you have firewood or heavy bags. The cabin was very nice with clean sheets and more pots and pans than I expected to find. The hand pump for non-potable water was convenient and the cooler worked well for our food.
My only critiques come from the dog poop bag at the base of the entry stairs and the bag of trash that was left behind the door that were there upon our arrival. It seemed that the cleaning staff had forgotten to grab them as they left, but it wasn’t a big deal to me, just a little off putting. There was a big party at the house down the hill that was insanely loud when we arrived on the property, but it was shut down before it was too late. I was surprised that the level of noise was allowed at all, but pleased that it was put to rest before it got late.
Overall, I would recommend this property to anyone who wants a slightly off-grid experience that is convenient to any area down in the gorge. Very nice cabin and excellent overall experience.

I was equally impressed with the cabin as I was with the helpful staff nearby. From last minute firewood requests to trail tips, this group has it figured out. Look forward to our next trip!

This place is really cool. The out house isn’t bad especially for a short trip. The solar energy did not work well For us, but the house stayed cool from windows opened at night. The area is great for a close group of friends or family and there is a lot of area to sit around together. I wouldn’t recommend taking a shower there it is not water efficient. The wake up is a little rough but overall I would definitely stay here again it’s very cool and secluded
