About this house rental
Create lasting memories in this quintessential beach cottage. The home combines the charm of the turn of the century gambrel with updated modern comforts. As you enter the home you are greeted with an updated kitchen, offering white stone countertops and propane stove, perfect to prepare a gourmet meal after a day at the beach. There is a dining table for all to gather to enjoy family meals or a game night. The large living room offers multiple seating areas and the large original stone fireplace adds to the ambiance, though only for decoration.
The second floor provides all sleeping accommodations in four generous bedrooms. The four rooms share a full bathroom which features a white tiled shower and tub combination. One room features a king bed and two others offer full size beds. The other bedroom features two twin beds.
The home doesn't forget that some of the best summer memories are spent outdoors. The large front porch is the perfect place to enjoy a morning coffee, or read a book. A large screened in porch offers a table for dining outdoors.
Matunuck is a special beach community. The home is a short walk to community beach. You can watch surfers at one of the best breaks in New England at Deep Hole Fishing Area. Also within walking distance is renowned beach bar, The Ocean Mist. Other restaurants within walking distance include The Pub, Matunuck Pizza, and Vanilla Bean. The best sandwiches around can be found at SeaView Market. While on vacation enjoy the arts at Theater-by-the-Sea, which offers a variety of shows over the summer. Locally grown vegetables including delicious summer corn can be found at Carpenter's Farm stand along with locally sourced meats and other provisions.
For a turnkey vacation experience, the listed price includes checkout cleaning and linens for the occupancy of the property. Commercially laundered linens are provided, including sheets, duvets with fresh covers, and one towel set (bath towel, hand towel, facecloth) per guest, plus bathmats and kitchen towels. Beach towels are not included unless otherwise noted. Stays over one week may incur an additional linen charge.

We had a fantastic stay here - the house was very clean, well stocked, and great for a family. The yard was great for the kids to run around and we used the grill almost every day. We had a small maintenance issue during our stay and it was fixed within 24 hours. The only caution for families with small children is that the wrap around porch is inclined to cause splinters so make sure your kids always have shoes on! It would also be great to have beach gear provided (chairs and umbrella). Overall, we loved our stay here.

We had a fantastic stay at this Matunuck home! The house was spotless when we arrived and was the perfect size for our group of two families (8 people total). We especially loved the screened-in porch — it was ideal for relaxing dinners and long conversations. During the day, the front porch quickly became our favorite hangout spot.The location couldn’t be better. We rode bikes to nearby restaurants (all under a mile) and the local beach is just down the street. Every morning, we enjoyed walking or running through the neighborhood, soaking in the gorgeous ocean views.The home worked wonderfully for everyone — from the little kids to the teens and adults. It had everything we needed for a comfortable and memorable stay. We’d absolutely come back!

We spent a lot of time relaxing on the porches and could hear the waves crashing in the distance. Neighborhood was great and has easy access to Route 1. Kitchen, dining, living room and kitchen appliances were excellent. Outdoor shower was a nice bonus. AC/wifi/tv works great. Master bedroom and two of the other bedrooms were very nice. Nice full bath on the 2nd floor and 1/2 bath on the first. Fouth bedroom has a mattress that is super hard. FYI, all bedrooms are upstairs. Overall, a great place to stay! Just had to dock it one point for that one bedroom as none of us could use that bed so had to use the twins in what I would call the kids room.
