Country house with private pool

Maison bien équipée, fraîche. Jardin très grand, mobilier extérieur en nombre et varié, piscine agréable. Propriétaires disponibles et à l'écoute.

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour en toute tranquillité. Le jardin et la piscine étaient merveilleux, la réalité était tellement mieux que les photos. Les hôtes étaient très agréables, ils restaient à l'arrière-plan, mais ils étaient toujours à disposition en cas de besoin. Un peu dommage que le boulanger le plus proche était à dix minutes en voiture, mais c'était un prix pour une telle tranquillité qu'on a payé avec plaisir. En résumé: une maison très recommandée pour les vacanciers qui cherchent la tranquillité et le silence de la nature en dehors le tourisme de masse.

The house is absolutely stunning, with comfortable accommodation, well equipped kitchen, and lovely grounds. The kitchen is gorgeous, and tge al-fresco dining spot under the trees, with string lights, was beautiful. The games room was great for the kids, and evening boules at the pétanque court was a lot of fun. The pool should be the jewel in the crown, but unfortunately it was very green, a bit slimy on the bottom, and not well-maintained (loose edging stones, missing grout etc.). This made it rather uninviting, which was a real shame. I would recommend checking with the host that the issues have been resolved before booking. Rather oddly, there's no plates but lots of bowls. Not a particular issue, but slightly surprising. Check-in was a little stressful, as rather than check in "from 4" we were being chased to get there asap as the hosts were going away. After driving halfway across France this wasn't particularly wanted. Once we arrived, however, Quentin was extremely welcoming and friendly. There was also a lovely welcome gift in the fridge, a very nice touch. This isn't the France of little cafés overlooking village squares. It is the France of big skies, endless countryside, and solitude. It was beautiful. I recommend boulangerie Hamelin in Liguel for your morning croissants, and the market in Loches is not to be missed. I took my bike, and I have no hesitation in recommending this part of France to cyclists. Stunning scenery, no cars, fantastic. The house then is absolutely beautiful, in a great location, but let down by the pool. If this gets resolved then this would be a 5* property.
