Discover our vacation rental “Côté Mer” - Degemer Mat," located right on the water’s edge, in the heart of Mont Saint-Michel Bay, in St-Benoît-des-Ondes. From the window of your cottage, admire Cancale, its harbor, its rocks, the sea, Mont Saint-Michel, and the Normandy coast. All shops are within 100 meters: bakery, oysters and shellfish, grocery store, tobacco shop and newsstand, and several restaurants. Easy parking. Close to the TGV stations in St-Malo and Dol, with two nearby TER stations: Cancale-La Gouesnière and La Fresnais. Bus stop for the coast and for St-Malo. You’re 5 km from Cancale and its fine sandy beaches, 12 km from Saint-Malo, and 25 km from Mont-Saint-Michel. It’s an ideal starting point for exploring all the magnificent and magical spots around the Bay of Mont-Saint-Michel. The seaside, just 100 m away (known as “la grève”), is perfect for walks or bike rides, sports activities, and picnics at the tables in front of the house. “Degemer Mat” (Welcome in Breton) is an 81-square-meter family-friendly duplex vacation rental. It can accommodate up to 5–6 people. Large 40-square-meter living area with a living room, dining room, open kitchen, and wood-burning stove. The bedrooms on the first floor measure 16 and 13 m², with a 6 m² landing/office area. Fully equipped kitchen, dishwasher, oven, washing machine, bathroom, wall-mounted toilet, and spacious shower. Two toilets (first floor and first floor). Large shared terrace of 80 m² facing due south. Located in a large 250 m² stone house facing the sea, completely renovated in 2021, this is a very comfortable vacation rental, fully equipped and beautifully decorated in a seaside style. It offers a magnificent view of the sea from the living room and the master bedroom. It is very bright at all times of day because it is a dual-aspect unit with south-facing windows. I stayed with my family for 3 nights at this property. It’s very clean, fresh and spacious. Very near to the beach as well which was a plus.

We enjoyed the location directly across from the bay. There was a handy little market with friendly, helpful proprietors. The sights we wished to visit were all reasonably near (within an hour's drive). The apartment itself was quite comfortable and well stocked with cooking essentials (always an issue for us, since we are not driving from our home and able to bring such items--and we hesitate to buy much, because we won't be taking them back to the US with us...). The one thing that would have been useful was instructions on where to dispose of recycled items (glass especially). All in all, we had a most enjoyable stay.

Die Ferienwohnung ist sehr modern und geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Die Ausstattung ist komfortabel. Das Schlafzimmer ist sehr großzügig, allerdings durch die Lage an der Uferstraße laut. Uns gefiel besonders das Bad mit der tollen Dusche und der großzügige Wohnbereich unten. Die Küche mit der Waschmaschine und der Spülmaschine haben wir intensiv genutzt. Besonders das Gefrierfach fanden wir sehr praktisch. Leider war das WLAN vor allem am Abend oft instabil und teilweise nicht erreichbar. Die Lage zwischen den beiden Straßen ist für lärmsensible Menschen nicht geeignet, aber für uns war das kein Problem.
Einen Parkplatz haben wir immer problemlos an der Straße vor dem Haus oder auf dem Parkplatz gegenüber gefunden. Toll war auch der Schuppen zum Unterstellen der Fahrräder.
Die Lage zwischen den zwei Straßen ist nicht optimal, aber die Nähe zum Bäcker und zum kleinen Lebensmittelgeschäft war perfekt.
Obwohl wir kein Französisch können, war der Kontakt mit unserer Ansprechpartnerin Cathy sehr nett und entgegenkommend. Mit Hilfe von deepl und ein bisschen Englisch haben wir uns verständigen können. Deshalb möchten wir Gästen aus Deutschland, die kein Französisch sprechen, die Wohnung sehr empfehlen.
