We had a lovely week here, the house has everything we needed (2 adults & 2 teenagers) and the garden is beautiful, and incredibly peaceful. Laurence and Jacky were there to welcome us on arrival, and Laurence showed us around and recommended places to visit (we went to Mont St Michel and St Malo, both short drives) - we managed well with a combination of French and English :) we rented the sheets & towels etc but didn’t have cash so paid next day. With hot weather the pool was fantastic! Also managed pétanque & badminton in well-stocked garden. The house has a dvd player and we got some dvd bargains in nearby supermarket! The layout worked well for kids to have a room each upstairs and we had downstairs room. All beds are huge! We would certainly return. Thank you for hosting us!

This was an amazing place to stay. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in this cottage. The beds were exceptionally comfortable, bedding was good quality. It took us a few days to get used to the pillows, as they are very different to pillows used in UK, but this is only a small matter. We were brave and used the swimming pool, despite the slightly cool weather. The gardens are huge but unfortunately we were not able to mae the most of all of the space as the weather didn't really favour sitting outside. We did however eat outside under the canopy every night. The cottage is extremely quiet and private. Laurence is a friendly and beautifully kind lady who was on hand if we needed her. Our only negative comment was that we would have appreciated a welcome pack. We arrived late afternoon during a storm, after travelling since 8:00am. We had thankfully stopped at the supermarket when we arrived in France as we were aware that Sunday opening hours can be sporadic in France. This was a saving grace as there were no provisions at all other than 1 toilet roll and 1 dishwasher tablet. In previous stays in France we have been left tea, coffee, bread and sometimes a bottle of wine or juice. It just felt a little disappointing that this had not been considered. This did not spoil our amazing holiday but though it worth mentioning so others are prepared in advance. quality. It took us a little

We had a lovely two week stay at Laurence and Jacky’s property, the garden in particular is gorgeous and vast. The location is great and locations like St Malo, Dinard, Dinan, Cancale and Mont St Michel within a short driving distance. We would definitely recommend to others.

Lovely property and amazing garden. The property was well equipped and garden area particularly good for the children. Badminton boules swings loungers and small unheated pool. One bedroon and bathroom downstairs, with toilet directly off the kitchen area, a bit disconcerting. The other two bedrooms were slightly larger and accessed with a spiral staircase which proved a little difficult with a young child keen to explore. We found ways of blocking it off though. TV in every room but we didnt use these. No bath but good shower and well lit mirrors. Basic kitchen equipment but good enough for most meals we made. The only drawback I found was the cost of extras, sheets 20€ cleaning 80 € and welcome pack . Check out time was a bit early at 9.00am and the owner turned up on the dot to inspect. Otherwise a pleasant stay.

An absolute gem of a find!! This Gite has everything you need for a relaxing getaway. We explored the area visiting the local Zoo (Bourbanais) located in a Chateaux's grounds, exceptional. Also Cancale is beautiful and the Oysters, WOW - Dozen for less than £10 - what can you say. Also visited Rennes which is oldy worldy and well worth the visit, less than 1 hour drive. Limited number of restaurants in the area, but this is rural France after all. Dol de Bretagne, about 4 miles along the main road is lovely with some nice bistros. For some days we just lay in the gardens and soaked up the sun - lovely. Laurence was very informative and made us very welcome. Thank you

It is a beautifull house, which includes everything that is needed for a family holiday. The swimmingpool was excellent for us and our small children, just as the house. Very large and beautifull garden. A week was just a bit short with everything the north of Bretagne has to offer: St Malo, beaches, mt. St. Michel, Dinand, Acquarium, and a lot more.

The house was very attractive, clean and comfortable. There was more than enough for us to fill our time in the neighbourhood, but it was also a pleasure to sit and relax in the big, beautiful garden. The owners were very friendly and welcoming, and we felt able to go to them if we needed anything, but they didn't disturb our privacy at all during the week.

We spent two wonderful weeks in La Fresnais in October 2018 and enjoyed Laurence´s perfect hospitality. The huge garden is fantastic, but if you woud like to explore the surroundings the house has the perfect location: Cancale, St. Malo, Mont St. Michel, Dinard (!!), ....all nearby and easy to reach. We definitely will come back soon.

I’m so pleased I found this holiday home. The owners are lovely, and we got on very well. Laurence the lady speaks some English I speak some French so between us we were more like friends. My young adult nephews thought she was a lovely person too. A week wasn’t enough really because we found we were only a mile and a half from the coast road leading to Cancale. If your a seafood lover your in heaven!! Oyster beds everywhere the fish and seafood are exceptional. We found a shack with a pull in off the road and had a huge bowl of moules mariniere with local Breton cider for not a lot of money. Also Dol Bretagne is a fantastic medieval town with excellent shops and restaurants. In la Fresnais there is a Boulangerie selling fresh artisan bread from early morning and fantastic patisserie. The supermarket for a local one is very well stocked. Your on the outskirts of the village so if your fit it’s a 20 minute walk otherwise 5 minutes in the car. Your only 15 minutes from St Malo too. The property has 3 king sized (French) beds one on the ground floor. There is a wood burning stove but we never needed to use it. The kitchen is well equipped. The shower room is lovely too. The Gite is very comfortable. There are so many places you can eat in or out on the verandah or the picnic table. The garden goes on for ever and little tables and chairs or sunloungers are placed at intervals for quiet reflection. There are chickens at the bottom but the garden is so big you can’t hear them from the house. We had to push ourselves to leave the garden and the pool to sightsee especially when it was hot. We would definitely return and were so lucky to have found Laurence and Jacky and their Ebony Orchard Gite.

Just returned from a very relaxing stay at the Ebony Orchard. The house is a lovely size and very tastefully decorated with comfortable seating in the lounge area and plenty of seating options to enjoy the wonderful garden. The pool was lovely for a refreshing dip in the afternoon and the height of the pool surround meant it was just like standing at a swim up bar. The wonderful gardens have to be seen to be believed as they seem to stretch on endlessly with their very own badminton and boules court. Laurence and Jacky were very friendly on the rare occasions that we saw them and I was very happy that Laurence's English was much better than my French. The village is about a mile away which was really handy as we visited the fantastic Boulangerie every day for their wonderful bread and croissant. This was a very restful and peaceful stay in tranquil surroundings which I would highly recommend. Diane & Bas

This was our first experience of booking a house in France through this site, and although we had to use Google translate a few times I was glad we did. The owner was very quick to respond to our emails, and happy to answer any questions. Our SATNAV bought us straight to the house from Cherbourg ferry terminal in two hours, plus a small stop off to get supplies for our first night. The house has everything you could need and is equipped with all mod cons, coffee machine, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave etc.( you will need to remember to buy some toilet paper though) There are flat screen TV'S in all three bedrooms, and a large tv in the living room but no English channels, so be prepared to be truly immersed in the French holiday experience. Great shower room with loads of hot water, separate toilet off from the kitchen. We stayed for a week and although the pool was too cold to get in, it was lovely to sit out under the covered deck area in the evenings, or stroll around the beautifully kept gardens. Lots of places to go, Cancal is10 minutes down the road and serves up the most amazing sea food on huge platters, and the oyster beds have to be seen. Mont St Micheal and the horse drawn carriages is great, St Malo the walled city was great with some splendid views from around the walls , Dinard and Dinnas all great and have some great markets to look around. In Fresnais just two minutes by car you will find the local supermarket, and a lovely bread and cake shop. There is also a pizza restaurant on the edge of town that makes really good takeaway pizzas. We could have eaten out in Cancal every night it was so nice there, great atmosphere, and locals so friendly in the restaurants. Great house and central location, hosts live on site in an adjacent house by the road and bought us fresh eggs, very friendly and they speak some English. Quiet peaceful location, centrally located and decorated very tastefully. I would recommend this house if you are planning to visit Britany, you will not be disappointed.

Le "Verger d'Ébène" est idéalement situé pour visiter la région, découvrir les charmantes cités aux alentours ou aller à la plage. Mais ce qui nous a le plus enchantés est la beauté du lieu lui-même, le sentiment de sérénité qui s'y dégage et l'extraordinaire talent des propriétaires, Laurence et Jacky, pour avoir transformé un immense champ en véritable paradis. Tout y est beau, depuis la maison super confortable et décorée avec tellement de goût, jusqu'au magnifique jardin (immense parc pour être plus exact!) où la beauté de la flore et le chant des oiseaux réjouissent le cœur et l'esprit, en passant par le sourire permanent de nos deux hôtes qui font tout pour rendre le séjour inoubliable, tout en étant extrêmement discrets et toujours disponibles. Nous avons loué de nombreuses maisons en Bretagne, celle-ci est la seule où nous nous sommes sentis vraiment chez nous et de loin celle qui nous a procuré autant de plaisir et de repos. Un très sincère MERCI à Laurence et Jacky pour leur gentillesse, et merci aussi aux 4 poules du jardin qui nous ont appris que leur met préféré était les pâtes au pesto! :). C’était un véritable plaisir de vous connaitre et nous reviendrons partager un moment de bonheur avec vous, c'est certain!!

Am meisten wird uns der riesige, wundervoll organisch gewachsene Garten mit all seinen Winkeln, verschiedenen Bäumen, Sportecken (Federball, Boule) positiv in Erinnerung bleiben. Die vier Hühner bekamen schnell Namen und sind uns ans Herz gewachsen. Der Pool hat uns auch eine Menge Spaß bereitet. Wir haben ihn fast täglich benutzt zum Erfrischen nach unseren Ausflügen. Die Terasse zum Garten ist wunderschön groß und überdacht. Sowohl bei Regen (nur ein Tag) als auch bei Sonne (meiste Zeit) fühle man sich dort am großen Tisch und den Liegestühlen pudelwohl. Wir haben sehr oft dort am großen Tisch auch gegessen. Der Blick von der Terrasse geht komplett in Richtung Natur und nicht auf andere Häuser. Man fühl sich sehr wohl und frei dort. Das Haus war für uns drei Personen sehr geräumig. Für sechs (Anzahl Betten) eignet es sich sicher auch. Die Dusche ist wundervoll groß und schön gestaltet. Den Holzofen im Wohnzimmer hatten wir nur einmal an einem etwas kühleren Sommertag neugierhalber in Betrieb. Der schafft im Winter sicher eine super Atmosphäre. Aufgrund Corona und fehlender Impfung sind wir selten Essen gegangen, sondern haben viel selbst gekocht - die Küche ist dazu prima geeignet. Grill ist auch vorhanden und wurde von uns mehrfach benutzt. Wenn man mich unbedingt nach Nachteilen fragen würde, fielen mir nur drei Kleinigkeiten ein: Die Matrazen sind weicher als unsere von daheim gewohnten - aber das ist Geschmackssache. Die Spülmaschine hat ein paar eingetrocknete Verschmutzungen nicht so 100% sauber bekommen. Kleinigkeit, haben wir halt mit der Hand schnell nachgespült, kein Problem. Die Geschirrausstattung orientiert sich vielleicht eher an französischer Küche: Werkzeug für Austern und Krabben ist da, Espressomaschine und -tassen auch. Aber ganz große Kaffeetassen nur wenige (in D wird Kaffee aus größeren Tassen getrunken als in F). Macht aber auch nix. Schenkt man halt öfter nach. Nicht zuletzt: Laurence und Jacky sind sehr freundliche Gastgeber. Da sie direkt nebenan wohnen, waren sie für die paar Fragen, die wir hatten, immer sofort da. Insgesamt würden wir hier jederzeit wieder herkommen. Gerne empfehlen wir diese Unterkunft weiter.

Le gite est parfaitement conforme à la description et nos attentes (calme, silence et espace). Nous n'avons pas été déçus. Déco sympa, séjour et chambres spacieuses, literies XXL et matelas confortables (nous sommes très exigeants sur ce point et nous avons très bien dormi). Gite bien équipé (peut être ajouter un sèche-linge pour les journées humides ?) Localisation parfaite entre St Malo et le Mont St Michel. (Très) grand et beau jardin où nos ados ont pu jouer au foot et au volley (ballon et filet mis à disposition + boules de pétanque et raquettes de badminton). Aucun vis à vis avec le gite voisin. Météo un peu trop fraîche (exceptionnelle cette année) pour profiter à plein de la piscine (non bâchée) mais elle est très suffisante pour faire trempette. Propriétaires très sympathiques et efficaces. Bref, nous avons passé un super séjour :-)

Beautiful spotless gîte in a quiet location in Lafresnais, perfectly located: not far from St Malo and the Mont st Michel, near the beach . Very comfortable bedding, the swimming pool was very clean and well appreciated on hot days. The garden ( or should I say park) is so big and peaceful, full of trees, plants fish/hens. You can do many activities such as volleyball/petanque or enjoy walking around it(try finding the secret pond).A perfect getaway. The owners Lawrence and Jacky were very kind and welcoming, they are clearly very passionate about their home/garden and care about their guests, which is rare these days. I give Lawrence and Jacky 10/10 . I highly recommend this gite. You will not be disappointed.

Dans ce contexte si particulier et malgré le mauvais temps, nous avons apprécié le confort du gîte et le merveilleux jardin luxuriant (qui n'a rien à envier à certains parcs entretenus par des paysagistes professionnels) qui ont rendu cette semaine chaleureuse et cocooning. Même si nous avons été obligés d'écourter nos vacances à cause du deuxième confinement, nous sommes très satisfaits de notre séjour. Lionel, Marie-Anne, Laurent et bien sûr Nala

Wir haben unseren Urlaub sehr genossen. Das Haus ist wunderschön und individuell eingerichtet, alles sehr geschmackvoll und sauber. In allen Zimmern sind neue Flachbildfernseher, die wir zwar nicht genutzt haben, die aber einen sehr hochwertigen Eindruck machen. Die Küchenausstattung könnte für Kochbegeisterte da und dort noch etwas vollständiger sein, alles Wesentliche ist aber da. Der Garten ist fantastisch, unglaublich groß, man kann im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes im eigenen Garten Picknick machen. Der Garten ist auch wunderschön angelegt, sehr vielfältig, tadellos gepflegt, einfach toll. Der Pool ist ebenfalls sehr schön und toll, allerdings nicht beheizt, was Ende August/Anfang September dann doch etwas frisch war, entsprechend haben wir ihn nur relativ kurz genutzt. Im Hochsommer ist es sicherlich super. Dafür haben wir jetzt den schönen Kamin genossen und einige gemütliche Abende bei Kaminfeuer verbracht. Die Vermieter Laurence und Jacky sind unheimlich freundlich, haben uns sehr nett empfangen, es war eine Flasche Cidre im Kühlschrank und Getränke für die Kinder. Als es etwas kühler wurde, wurde sofort auch die Heizung angeschaltet, alles ganz reibungslos und sehr angenehm. Wir können das Haus nur wärmstens empfehlen. Vielen Dank an Laurence und Jacky für den tollen Aufenthalt.

Das Haus ist individuell, ruhig und komfortabel, der Garten unfassbar schön und riesengroß. Wir erhielten eine Flasche Cidre, einige Äpfel und sogar ein paar Eier von den eigenen Hühnern im Garten. Das war wirklich nett. Etwas umständlich fanden wir die Tatsache, dass man ungeachtet der festen Buchung noch einen Mietvertrag ausdrucken, unterzeichnen, einscannen und zurückschicken musste. Außerdem dokumentiert die Tatsache, dass man direkt bei der Ankunft eine hohe Kaution in bar leisten muss und direkt einige Handlungsanweisungen erhält, doch ein gewisses Misstrauen gegenüber seinen Feriengästen. Das beeinträchtigt es ein wenig, sich wirklich von Anfang an "zu Hause" zu fühlen. Zudem ist zu berücksichtigen, dass keine Putzmittel, Müllbeutel , Toilettenpapier, Salz, Zucker etc. als Grundausstattung vorhanden sind. Aber die Lage ist für Ausflüge nach Dinard, zum Mont St Michel, nach Dinan und nach Cancale wirklich perfekt.

Es war ein besonders schöner Urlaub in dem tollem Haus von Flaurence und Jacky. Das Highlight für die Kids war der Pool und für uns Eltern die überdachte Terasse mit Blick in den toll angelegten Garten. Wir dachten wir seien in Südfrankreich. Abends ein bisschen Volleyball, Federball oder Boule....all das war in diesem Garten möglich...Einfach traumhaft...das Ferienhaus liegt optimal für Ausflüge aller Art, ob Meer oder Stadt...wir hatten eine schöne Zeit hier und würden immer wieder kommen.

Wir wurden sehr freundlich aufgenommen. Trotz der Sprachbarriere (das Schulfranzösisch hat doch mit der Zeit arg gelitten) gestaltete sich der Austausch problemlos und sehr angenehm. Das Ferienhaus liegt in einem kleinen Ort, unweit von Saint-Malo und bietet sich daher als Ausgangspunkt für Touren durch die Bretagne bestens an. Der Ort verfügt über einen Bahnhof, so dass man von dort sogar Touren mit der Bahn unternehmen kann. Das Haus ist komplett ausgestattet und sehr gepflegt. Es verfügt über drei Schlafzimmer, so dass auch Familien mit Kindern es nutzen können. Die Terrasse eröffnet den Blick auf einen kleinen Pool und einen wunderschön gestalteten und gepflegten Garten, den man auch wunderbar nutzen kann, um einfach einmal eine ruhige Zeit zu verleben. Alles in allem haben wir einen sehr erholsamen und angenehmen Urlaub verbracht. Wir können das Objekt sehr empfehlen. Vielen Dank an die Gastgeber, die uns sehr freundlich empfangen und verabschiedet haben und die sich während unseres Aufenthalts auch sehr dezent verhalten haben.
