Great house with stunning views

This is a lovely house with a most obliging hostess, who even gave us afternoon tea in the garden. Good breakfast. There is a well equipped kitchen to use and fabulous views towards Assisi from the enclosed verandah. You must go to the Il Rientro restaurant a 10 minute walk away. Is the best food we have eaten in Italy. We went 4 nights in a row and had the pasta, pizza, gnocchi, rabbit and veal. The strawberry cheesecake is brilliant.

It's a little way out of town, but the view and the peaceful garden are worth it. Small dog barking early morning could annoy some people, but the positives FAR outweigh these minor negatives.

Holiday with a friends wedding

Location was great and the owner was always there when we needed anything. The breakfasts were perfect and the scenery was beautiful. I would recommend Poggio La Grognola to anyone that wanted a B&B in that region.

Exceptional

The location was perfect for touring the Umbria region. The setting was absolutely beautiful. The garden was marvellous and everything is maintained in the best of ways. Everything perfectly clean. Spacious rooms. The host Gabriella is a wonderful person who is keen to give you many suggestions and furnish interesting information. Truly a wonderful host. An ideal place to discover Umbria but also to relax in a beautiful and peaceful setting.

A lovely property with a very considerate landlady

The property is extremely well kept and lovely, in the room everything was tastefully arranged and the bathroom was gigantic! It is in a very isolated location, therefore it is extremely quiet both night and day - a place where one can really relax. The breakfast is simply outstanding, with everything freshly prepared in house by a gentle landlady.

The room did't have air conditioning, which in itself would not be a problem since Poggio La Grognola is build on a hilltop, but we happened to visit during the hottest week of the year - I suffered a bit (but my partner did not).

Struttura isolata ma non troppo, camera ampia, zona colazione accogliente e dolci, preparati in casa dalla gentilissima proprietaria, a dir poco squisiti. Luogo ideale per qualche giorno di relax, nel cuore dell’Umbria a pochi passi da Assisi e Spello. Lo consiglio vivamente

Il mondo della dolce signora Gabriella 🥰

Poggio la Grognola sorge tra le colline umbre, circondato da verde, fiori e colori, lontano da suoni e rumori della città. È questo il mondo in cui vive la tanto garbata e ospitale Gabriella, ottima padrona di casa. Porto con me la cura con cui ci accoglieva nella sua veranda incantata, la cura con cui ci ha imbandito la tavola al mattino e ci ha preparato la colazione, tutto fatto con le sue mani. Meraviglioso! Le chiacchierate, il conoscere le vecchie tradizioni, i consigli su dove recarci e cosa vedere di bello... insomma Gabriella mi è entrata nel cuore!
