This is a lovely house with a most obliging hostess, who even gave us afternoon tea in the garden. Good breakfast. There is a well equipped kitchen to use and fabulous views towards Assisi from the enclosed verandah. You must go to the Il Rientro restaurant a 10 minute walk away. Is the best food we have eaten in Italy. We went 4 nights in a row and had the pasta, pizza, gnocchi, rabbit and veal. The strawberry cheesecake is brilliant.
It's a little way out of town, but the view and the peaceful garden are worth it. Small dog barking early morning could annoy some people, but the positives FAR outweigh these minor negatives.

Struttura isolata ma non troppo, camera ampia, zona colazione accogliente e dolci, preparati in casa dalla gentilissima proprietaria, a dir poco squisiti. Luogo ideale per qualche giorno di relax, nel cuore dell’Umbria a pochi passi da Assisi e Spello. Lo consiglio vivamente

Poggio la Grognola sorge tra le colline umbre, circondato da verde, fiori e colori, lontano da suoni e rumori della città. È questo il mondo in cui vive la tanto garbata e ospitale Gabriella, ottima padrona di casa. Porto con me la cura con cui ci accoglieva nella sua veranda incantata, la cura con cui ci ha imbandito la tavola al mattino e ci ha preparato la colazione, tutto fatto con le sue mani. Meraviglioso!
Le chiacchierate, il conoscere le vecchie tradizioni, i consigli su dove recarci e cosa vedere di bello... insomma Gabriella mi è entrata nel cuore!
