This self-contained property sits independently next to the owners home, with its own private entrance, secluded courtyard and south-facing patio-offering a peaceful escape with minimal interaction. Whether you’re sipping morning coffee or enjoying evening drinks, the outdoor spaces set a relaxed tone from the moment you arrive. Inside, the home is light, spacious and thoughtfully styled. The open-plan living and dining area features calming maritime tones and a sleek, well-equipped kitchen ideal for preparing leisurely meals. Upstairs, the king-size bedroom is a true sanctuary. With full-height ceilings and large windows that flood the room with natural daylight-and blackout curtains for restful nights-it feels airy and inviting. A cozy love seat offers the perfect spot to curl up with a good book. Across the landing, a bright dressing room with a desk-style vanity and mirror leads to a generous bathroom with both a bath and separate shower-perfect for unwinding after a day of adventure.

Beyond the doorstep, Falmouth offers a vibrant blend of heritage, culture and natural beauty. Just a 2-3 minute walk to Penmere Train Station, The Retreat provides easy access to the region’s highlights. Travel one stop to Falmouth Town for the National Maritime Museum Cornwall, or two stops to Falmouth Docks for Pendennis Castle. Keen walkers will enjoy the scenic coastal route from Penmere, using the train to return from Falmouth Docks. Taxis are readily available and often more cost-effective than buses, when travelling from The Moor, making local travel flexible and stress-free. The town centre, half a mile away, is a lively hub of independent shops, artisan cafés, and award-winning restaurants. From fresh seafood to handmade crafts, Falmouth’s creative spirit is everywhere. The golden sands of Swanpool and Gyllyngvase beaches are a short 0.8-mile stroll-perfect for swimming, sunbathing, or simply breathing in the sea air. Nature lovers will appreciate Swanpool’s nature reserve and nearby coastal paths, offering breathtaking views across the bay and surrounding landscape. Falmouth’s calendar is packed with exciting events year-round. In summer, the Red Arrows soar above the harbour during Falmouth Week, a celebration of sailing, music and food. The International Sea Shanty Festival brings maritime music to the streets in June, while autumn welcomes the Oyster Festival, celebrating Cornwall’s seafood heritage. With its tranquil setting, private outdoor spaces and prime location, The Retreat is a rare gem.

Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or simply craving a break from the everyday, this coastal bolthole offers everything you need to reconnect, recharge, and explore the very best of South Cornwall.

There are steps or steep slopes in the garden.

The security deposit of £350 is payable directly to the owner two weeks prior to arrival (cash and cheques on arrival are not accepted).
