About this house rental

Furnace House is situated within the historic iron works, in the sought after area of Jericho. Jericho is an historic suburb of the English City of Oxford, located outside the old city wall. The apartment is located in prime location with it being just a short walk into the centre of Oxford yet is surrounded by nature in the form of Port Meadow whilst also being a stones throw away from an abundance of restaurants, bars and cafes.

Live the life of luxury in the sought after area of Jericho, this lavishly appointed, large two bedroom apartment is nestled within the development of the renowned iron works of Oxford. Nonetheless this stylish apartment still sits within the heart of vibrant Jericho. Jericho is located a short walk from the city centre and offers an escape from the hustle and bustle of the city centre but still offers plenty to explore, historic sites to visit, great places to eat and drink all set within a thriving community. The property also benefits from a frequent bus service taking no longer than 5 minutes to travel into the centre.

Jericho itself has plenty to offer, with a plethora of shops, restaurants, cafes and even an historic, century-old cinema available right on your door step!

The Oxford train station is also close by, providing easy access into London! Being only a 15 minute walk away. Gloucester Green, Oxfords bus station is also only a 15 minute walk away providing flexible travel into and out of Oxford and many nationwide locations.

Home from home, when you enter through the front door you find the main bathroom on your left which offers use of both a bath and shower along with a toilet and hand basin. As you carry on down the corridor on your next left is the master bedroom which boasts a beautifully appointed en-suite shower room and a tastefully decorated bedroom. The second bedroom will be found just after the master bedroom, with a double bed and built-in wardrobe space. As you carry on further into the apartment you will enter the kitchen/living area with a large open plan, high gloss kitchen looking over the lounge and dining area, with dual aspect French doors leading onto the balcony, which is perfect for enjoying a cold drink whilst basking in the summer sun reminiscing on the days earlier activities exploring the historic town of Oxford. The house in total sleeps up to 6 individuals.


Outside area & garden
There is a balcony which is enclosed and safe for children under adult supervision. The balcony sits a dining table and chairs for Al fresco dining.

Parking
There is gated underground parking at the property which has an allocated parking space for on vehicle. Public car parks are nearby if an additional car is needed. There is also free on street parking available at specific times throughout the day.

My wife and our adult kids stayed in this great apartment on our visit to Oxford. The apartment was modern and in a lovely area close to great pubs and restaurants and a pleasant twenty five minute walk to any of the colleges and sights.

Very minimalistic supplies. Microwave and ovens markings gone. This was mentioned on a prior review yet still not rectified. Washing machine broken. That was a major issue for us as we had been travelling outside of the UK and needed laundry facilities. Second bathroom hand held shower only. There is a notice on the ensuite bedroom closet, not to use. Nowhere to hang my clothes.

The apartment was beautiful, warm, comfortable and very well situated, however the washing machine didn't work - we were there for 13 days over Christmas - and the writing/figures on the oven and microwave were all but erased making their use a guessing game. There wasn't a complete set of cutlery, only one tea towel, no oven gloves and although we did virtually no cooking in the apartment we noticed a lack of utensils necessary for those who would cook.

Checkin , parking and the apt were terrific - very large space. walkable to Jericho and central Oxford - or bike-able. Near the canal walk and close to Port Meadow. Possibly one of the better locations in Oxford. The apartment is modern and well equipped but there were just a few negative points more for the owners to repair. I don't normally post negatives but I think this flat/apt is def worth it with a few minor tweaks There were lights that didn't work in the bathrooms just needed replacing. One of the bedrooms had a glass table that was broken on a corner - which is dangerous especially with kids. The kitchen cabinets could do with a bit if TLC as the bottoms of the doors were coming away. An instruction book or one pager at the apartment as to how everything works would have come in handy and less imposing than warning signs and directional signage through out the flat. Finally the apt seems somewhat spares as a lot of the wall hanging were missing. While I understand that there are personal items esp pictures/paintings that owners want to put away but the distinct lake of anything made it feel a bit characterless and perfunctory. To the it may also be handy to have more hangers in the closet and for the owners items to not just be shoved away messily there would be more space if this were done better All in all a big space, all modern mod cons and close to everything. Def worth the price tag. More to the point it had parking an Oxford unicorn for sure.

Fantastic location, close to nice food shops, cafes and restaurants whilst also being easy to walk into centre of Oxford. Apartment spacious and clean. It is a bit tired, many bits of furniture a bit broken and in need of a refresh but comfortable enough and a good base for our stay.

Great place to stay for the Formula One race weekend easy access to motor ways to Silverstone. Flat was in a great location for bars and restaurants within walking distances.

Clean, comfortable bed, all the appliances worked, soft towels. Plus the whole apartment is nicely decorated. We love the location of Jericho with its cafes and restaurants, under a mile from the center of Oxford. Plus the convenience of an underground parking garage with an assigned space. The numbering system of the spaces in the garage is a bit bizarre -- e.g. 16 is next to 65 and there are duplicates of some numbers (including ours) but it was so good to not worry about the car. Will book this again!
