About this house rental
In a quiet area of the Bierzo region, in the Boeza Valley, in the beautiful village of La Ribera de Folgoso, 25 km from Ponferrada, you’ll find this exclusive, charming rural lodging. A place to rest, unwind, and enjoy yourself.
Hiking, biking, and nature lovers will find trails right next to the house, as well as one of the best river beaches in the area, featuring crystal-clear water, spacious lawns, barbecue areas, and a swimming area for children.
In the mornings, take a stroll to the Santo Cristo chapel to buy some bread from the local bakery, “La Espiga de Oro.”
I’m always still in bed when I hear the van’s horn, and my wife says, “
” “There’s the baker—do you want anything??? Get up.”
“Hahaha, we’re on vacation.”
But if you want to enjoy their delicious olive oil cakes, you’ll probably have to order them in advance.
Bakers from other towns also stop by, as does a fishmonger.
Near the house, you’ll find the Villa Fountain and Los Poulos Park.
You’ll find plenty of trails that will take you to neighboring towns like Folgoso, Albares, and Villa Viciosa de San Miguel, depending on which direction you choose.
And after a refreshing swim at the river beach, you can enjoy an iced coffee at Mesón Ramos or at Maribel Lafuente’s home.
In the evening, step out into the cool air right outside your door to chat with neighbors or any passerby you happen to meet on the street.
And at the end of the day, being able to rest—even in the middle of August—while staying warm is a true pleasure.
